May 3rd
Milicent Brown is found murdered in a back alley of Boulder City. Her body is mutiliated with her eyes removed from her head, apparently during a struggle. The wounds indicate that the weapon was a knife. Investigation into Brown's past proves difficult, as she had been a heroin addict and streetwalker for the past seven years.
May 6th
Kevin Lowry is found murdered in a Boulder City hotel room. His eyes have also been removed, and he has numerous stab wounds. LVMPD Homicide designates this as a possible serial murder case connected to the Brown slaying, ramping up resources and manpower dedicated to finding the killer.
May 8th
Gerald Kramer and Peter Laughton are found murdered in Laughton's taxi cab near a gas station in Boulder City. Kramer's eyes have been removed from his head, and Laughton was apparently slain as he attempted to flee the vehicle. A crucifix is drawn in blood on the windshield of the taxi.
May 10th
LVMPD Homicide learn that Kramer had been involved in a number of religious fundamentalist groups in the southwest United States. The Homicide detectives begin investigating these groups in the hopes of finding a connection with the other victims. This list includes several groups known to be operating around Las Vegas, which attract a wide range of people.
May 12th
Ordell Watkins is found badly wounded in an alley behind a Las Vegas diner. His eyes have been irreparably damaged and he has several stab wounds to the chest. Watkins is overheard speaking of "wormwood", later laughing apparently in a delirium. He dies later that morning at a local hospital.
May 15th
LVMPD Homicide brings in several members of an apocalyptic cult known as the Lambs of God for questioning. Kramer had been affiliated with them in the past, but the suspects all claim that he had left the congregation several months previous. No evidence is found at the Lambs of God church and the suspects are eventually released.
May 18th
Irene Walcott is found murdered in a dumpster behind a Boulder City convenience store. Her eyes have been removed, and religious
symbols have been painted on the walls in her blood.
May 20th
Ben Hartcourt witnesses a man attacking Nancy Mickleson, a drifter, in a side street of a Boulder City neighborhood. Hartcourt sees the man's face and can also tell that he was removing the woman's eyes from her corpse. The man escapes as Hartcourt attempts to help Mickleson. LVMPD Homicide takes Hartcourt in for questioning.
May 21st
LVMPD Homicide learns that the description of the attacker tallies with that of a reclusive cult leader named Dr. George Carpenter. This is corroborated by one of the members of the Lambs of God cult, who claims to have met Carpenter on several occasions in the past year. The cultist further implies that there has been some mysterious incidents occurring around the Hallowed Believer compound.
May 22nd
10:30 PM - Gold Team and Silver Team of the LVMPD SWAT unit serve a high risk warrant at the Hallowed Believer compound. The warrant is for the arrest of Dr. George Carpenter on suspicion of murder. Several members of the cult are shot and killed by SWAT officers during the warrant service. A handful of others are arrested. A boy named Joshua is among the cult members detained. The graves of fourteen members of the cult, including children, are found in the basement of the Hallowed Believer compound.
11:00 PM - Officers discover a hidden mine tunnel entrance in the basement of the compound. Gold Team investigates the tunnel and finds remains that could be those of Dr. George Carpenter. The remains are horribly disfigured and distorted.
11:30 PM - Ben Hartcourt is escorted by Officer Kelly Mitchell into the tunnel to try and identify the remains. Detectives Mendoza and Grimes accompany them.
May 23rd
12:00 AM - Silver Team is investigating a storage shed in the compound when they are alerted to some unknown disturbance. An explosion erupts from the shed, killing most of Silver Team. Sergeant Bill Ferrell, callsign Maverick, goes missing. The incident causes a partial collapse of the tunnel that Gold Team, the Detectives, Mitchell, and Hartcourt are in.
12:05 AM - Social Worker Agatha Percy arrives at the Hallowed Believer compound to assist with the processing of the boy Joshua. Gold Team witnesses an unknown assailant attacking and wounding Detective Grimes.
12:10 AM - While attempting to assist Detective Grimes, Gold Team is attacked by a group of mutated cultists armed with tools and melee weapons. Sergeant Tom Bowen and Detective Mendoza are killed.
12:15 AM - Officer Davies advises command of a possible outbreak and the need to notify the CDC. Gold Team begins searching for another exit from the underground tunnel.
2:00 AM - Agatha Percy begins exhibiting irrational behavior and physical symptoms of some sort of infection. She is handed over to paramedics to be taken to a local hospital. The boy Joshua is discovered to be missing.
2:45 AM - Gold Team is attacked by mutants. Detective Grimes undergoes a metamorphosis into a mutant creature, then is killed by Officer Rivers. Gold Team regroups and rests.
3:15 AM - The ambulance carrying Agatha Percy is found wrecked on a roadside, with the paramedics' bodies lying nearby. Percy is nowhere to be found.
3:40 AM - Representatives of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention arrive at the Hallowed Believer compound to confer with LVMPD officials. They institute a quarantine of the compound and begin examining the evidence from the ambulance wreck. They also have the Hallowed Believer suspects detained by the LVMPD remanded to the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada. A quarantine is placed on a section of the medical center.
3:55 AM - Gold Team finds a storage room in the abandoned mine and discovers that it was closed in 1929. They begin making plans to find one of the other mine exits.
4:00 AM - Police forces stationed in Black Rock Canyon near the potential mine exits are pulled back on the advice of the CDC. Officers report several seismic disturbances and strange sounds in the area. The National Guard and FBI are contacted.
4:30 AM - Officer Russell falls while attempting to climb up an elevator shaft. He is shaken but survives the fall.
5:00 AM - Gold Team ascends the elevator shaft and sees a large chamber with numerous mutated cultists, a strange rock, fungal growth, and one normal looking person. The mutants are watching a static-filled television. Agents of the FBI's Las Vegas field office arrive at the compound. National Guard units also arrive.
5:15 AM - Gold Team ascends to the upper most level of the mine, but is pursued by an unknown creature of immense size and power. Officer Mitchell and Hartcourt escape, but the rest of Gold Team is killed. Mitchell and Hartcourt are picked up by a CDC helicopter and evacuated to the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada.
5:30 AM - Mitchell and Hartcourt are placed in the quarantined section of the medical center for close observation and examination by CDC representatives. Their wounds are tended to by physicians. Several falling stars are reported seen over Las Vegas.
