Leck was a promising student in Aqua-topological Informatics on his homeworld of Dac when the Clone Wars came. Living in a more isolated sector of the planet, he avoided the worst ravages of the conflict, but he couldn't ignore it entirely. In fact, he had just developed a thorough distrust for both the Republic and the Separatists when the galaxy changed and the Empire came to Dac. While the occupation boded ill for all of Dac's inhabitant, Leck's parents knew that their youngest son would fare worse than most: Leck saw connections with a skill that some found supernatural, and although his talents had never been identified, his parents feared that even his weak connection to the Force would draw the attention of the Empire.

Leck's parents hired a pair of Quarren ne'er-do-wells to smuggle their son off planet; however, the Quarren were less smugglers than young hooligans with a ship, and the quiet bribe slipped the Imperial customs agents rapidly devolved into a high-orbit chase. Ultimately, they barely escaped-- largely thanks to an innovative suggestion by Leck. Once out of system, the sisters gave him little choice but to join their newly minted smuggling crew. Fortunately, the pair preferred the sort of jobs that stuck one to the Empire. In the intervening decade, Leck supplemented his incomplete education where he could, playing the role of "brains behind the operation"... and occasionally, moral compass. As word of their antics spread, the trio was contacted by the rebel operative going by the moniker "Fulcrum," who began feeding them jobs of a decidedly more rebellious nature.

most recently, Fulcrum has requested Leck specifically to meet with a "mutual friend" at a rendezvous over an abandoned mining operation on a remote moon...
