A play-by-post game of Fate Accelerated by Evil Hat, set in a world of anthropomorphic heroes in an endless sea of blue sky -- a setting loosely based on the original work of Claudia Cangini from the art in the rulebook.

Felandia is a peaceful place of quiet dignity and luxury. Its dominant (but perhaps not most numerous) race is the noble cat person, and chief among them are the Rawrmanovs, descended from the savannah kings. Normal folk live among them, as they do among all nations of Everafter.

Other races include the raccoon folk, generally working for anyone who prefers not to dirty their own hands with dirty work (raccoon folk are very adept with washing not just their own hands, but also their employers’ hands of unwanted business). As such, they’re top among the criminal underworld. There are also crocodile folk, who serve as powerful merchants and money lenders, and the lemur people, who are the most gifted craftsmen.

The Boundless Blue is the endless sky that serves as the main sea that separates the islands from each other, accessible only via sky ship.

Felandia is part of a great archipelago of floating islands called the Greater Catailles. Several larger empires from beyond the Boundless Blue vie for rights to trade with (and sometimes exploit) the islands, chief among these with whom Felandia most oft butts heads is Britland, now a powerful empire. We can see one of her chief agents, Commodore Martin, one of the bird people, facing off with Voltaire on page 21. An ambitious man, he is determined to hang all pirates plaguing Greater Catailles. His name comes from the actual philosopher’s book, Candide, who was the protagonist’s counterpart. Is that who is referred to in Voltaire’s original character sheet, “Martin is as Cheat”? Let’s assume so and port that aspect over to Martin’s sheet.

There are also badger folk and hippopotamen. On page 35 of FAE, the campaign idea mentioned is “Cat-people sky pirates in flying ships, always on the run from the Royal Navy trying to catch them.” We’ll play on this for the setting, but anything could happen...
