  • Description: A strapping lad of average height, but uncommonly broad shoulder. He is armed head to toe in mail, and his tabard bears a sign of Heironeous. The sword strapped to his side seems as out of place on him as it would on a kindly farm boy, so strongly does it contrast his broad grin and mirthful brown eyes.
  • History and Personality: Gregoire is a True Believer in Heironeous, with the full measure of both advantage and disadvantage that absolute certainty provides in a world governed by uncertainty. He is outgoing, kind, and selfless to a fault. His capacity for wrath is such that someone who met him on the street would not recognize him on the battlefield, but fortunately his wrath is reserved for Evil. He was terribly wounded in battle three years ago, and though the wounds have healed Gregoire remembers nothing from before that day save only his first name, his paladin training, and his faith in Heironeous.

  • Circle of power – If in possession of a holy sword, it will project a 10 foot diameter sphere which repels hostile magic.
  • Curative – Grants power to cure any natural disease once per week for every five experience levels. For example, a 10th level paladin can use his ‘cure disease’ ability two times a week (this ability is ineffective against lycanthropy.)

Magic Items[edit]

  • Helm of Underwater Action: When this helm is viewed, it is indistinguishable from a normal helmet. However, detection reveals it to be magical, and the possessor is able to see and breathe underwater. Visual properties of the helm are activated when small lenses are drawn across the device from compartments on either side. These allow the wearer to see five times farther than water and light conditions allow for normal human vision. (Note that weeds, obstructions, and the like block vision in the usual manner.) If the command word is spoken, the helm of underwater action creates a globe of air around the wearer's head, and maintains it until the command word is spoken again. Thus, the wearer can breathe freely. The helm provides a +1 to armor class.
