Background[edit]

The youngest daughter (and second youngest child) of the reasonably powerful Tesserra family, Flavia has known both the benefits of her birth and the duties that go with it for longer than she has been able to walk. While her eldest sister would, one day, continue the family's proud legacy and her other two sisters were sent to serve the Imperium in the Guard, for Flavia her role in life had always been to enter the Ecclesiarchy, to serve the Emperor and, of course, bring honour and respect to her world and family. As gifted as she was militant, Flavia quickly gravitated to the more martial end of the Ministorum and was never happier than when cutting down and/or burning the enemies of the Emperor. Until her brother revealed the existence of a nest of heretics. Naturally, she accompanied him to purge them but, as he led them through their hideout he displayed more and more signs of knowing about their heresies, understanding them in dangerous ways and Flavia's duty was clear to her.

Yet, instead of killing him as she knows she should have, she instead gave in to a moment of weakness and, instead, simply reported her suspicions instead of acting upon them. While relieved that her brother did not die, she sees her recruitment by the Inquisition to be a test and penance for her moment of weakness.

Small and almost delicate in her features, Flavia looks like the kind of high born lady most at home in the social intrigues of the upper hives, rather than the midst of physical combat. At least until one sees her in a fight, where it is rather hard to miss her enthusiasm. She tends to dress simply and practically, with no adornments other than a single, old and battered feather-shaped earring.
