Alexis Harding, granddaughter of one of the original Spider-man’s oldest and truest allies the Black Cat. She grew up listen to her mother go on and on about how she had known the amazing Spider-Girl when she was younger and how her mother had actually had an on-again-off-again romance with the original web-head. However, while her mother never received the Black Cat’s luck powers… Alexis did… the gene had merely skipped a generation. Being heavily influenced by her mother’s ramblings and by the stories of the many heroes that once roamed their now decrepit city… Alexis began to think her powers had come to her with purpose. Why else had her grandmother been so close to Spider-man… and her mother a “good friend” of Spider-girl… it couldn’t be chance… it was fate… it had to be. Alexis was already an excellent athlete… and her powers augmented that truth greatly… but she needed to be more. She trained like there was no tomorrow… convinced she was the heir to the webs… that she was the next Spider-Girl. Then Malcolm hit the scene. The arrival of a new Spider-man shattered her perceptions. That was supposed to be her after all. She stalked Malcolm for a full week before making her way to the Website. Inside she found Spider-Girl’s costume and web-shooters but couldn’t bring herself to take them… with a new Spider-man swinging around town… a new Spider-Girl would never be taken seriously. Seeing Phil Ulrich’s old golden goblin gear and Norman’s various old toys as well… Alexis conceived a new destiny. How better to strike at the black heart of eating away at the city then to where its own face in mockery. Thus the new heroic Hobgoblin was borne. Alexis and Malcolm have since both come into conflict with and allied with each other on several occasions. Whether either of them like it… the live of the Harding women and those that bear the mask of the spider seem inexplicably bound.

Weaknesses:

• Driven (becoming a theme… no?) (Major): Perhaps even more Driven than Malcolm… while he stumbled upon his destiny… she’s trained for it for as long as she can remember.
• Bezerker (Moderate): Alexis is a sucker for a throw down and can be easily lured into disadvantageous battles. In their first “team-up”, in the heat of battle Alexis actually decked Malcolm by accident… not so amusingly breaking his nose in three places.
• Antagonist (Moderate)- Osborn hates this goody-two-shoes poser almost more than he does the kid pretending to be Spider-man. The Goblin Gang doesn’t like the wannabe either.
