VAN DYE Industries[edit]

The Van Dye Textile Company was founded in 1871 in London.

One of the biggest and well-known textile companies in London, which has been producing socks and underwear since 1871. Recent years of Van Dye passed, has worked for setting its administrative system to an institutional structure. As a result of institutional structure, purchasing, planning and developing, exporting, human resources, quality assurance, marketing, accounting and plant management have been built up. By the structural alteration, department of R&D was founded and this department developed a computer program, which is completely belonging to this sector, by using last technology.


Van Dye is making the sampling requests from customers and for own brand developing in the developing department with its best technician and machine line. With all these years of experiences, today Van Dye is quickly becoming the leader of innovation in the sector. It is using the latest technological yarns such as Modal, Cool Max, Tactel, Sensura and washing process such as Aloe Vera, Sanitized, Ultra fresh and Agis. Van Dye textiles are exported to different countries all over the world.


Following the death of founder and owner, the company passed over to Janet Van Dye in 1888. The company operates Van Dye's textile mill outlets and was a distributer of linens and domestics. Young Janet is currently releasing her line of fabric for wall hangings and women's dresses that are out selling all other lines, quickly becoming the brand of Van Dye Industries.


The vision continues with plans to use punched cards to control the engine, an idea Henry Pym utilized from Joseph Jacquard, who had used punched cards to control his automatic loom early in the century. One set of cards would program the mill, telling it which operation to perform. Another set would store the numbers to be acted upon.
