Appearance (OC yes I am using the pic from Races of The Dragon for this) Ioth in friendly surroundings looks like a moderately affluent fellow, believing firmly in the idea of dressing to impress, favouring well-maded blue clothes and sturdy boots. When he is out on pilgrimage he is more likely to have packed his better clothes away and instead outfits himself as befits a follower of Io, armour and shield with his masters symbol on them, simple and practical clothes and a typically sheathed weapon. As a spellscale Ioth's draconic features are clear, faintly gold skin head frills marking his unusual birth. He seems to usually tend towards a serious expression but like many of his kind he still cannot resist dropping the facade and behaving in a frivalous manner with much a light in his eyes that makes it clear which is his real nature.

Background - born to a pair of sorcerers Ioth, to his parents surprise, was not a normal child, but rather a spellscale. Neither parent expected this but both were overjoyed, beleiving that their son would grow up to follow in their footsteps. However, despite being a very charismatic child Ioth showed no aptitude for the ways of magic. Instead he spent his days playing with other children of his village, indulging in exploration around his home and the surrounding areas. It was on one of these expeditions that he and his playmates first met another spellscale, a follower of the Dragon Io. When he was approached by the fascinated children the cleric, whose name was Ixen Thurirl, took an interest in young Ioth. Up until now Ioth had had no interest in gods, seeing no need for him to take an interest in them. However something within him stirred as he listened to the stories Ixen told. He wanted to go forth into the world as Ixen did, bringing the hope that Io offered to people and adventuring. When he returned home later that day he had come to a decision. He would worship Io, and one day travel the world to spread the word to others of his kind and kindred. Learning og Io's ways was hard at first for the boy. His nature made it hard for him to focus on the practical lessons that he learnt from dusty old tomes in his parents library, or the information he was able to coerce out of the fusty priests in his village. Eventually he came to realise that he was going about it all wrong. Rather than seeking Io in books or the minds of others he had to find Io in himself. It was still hard for him to learn yet this realisation was the first step along his path to enlightenement and a significant one. After several years of study Ioth almost felt ready to leave. Before he went out into the world though Ixen visited him once more. Many years had passed since then and the older spellscale was starting to feel the passage of time. Meeting Ioth and seeing the change in him he decided that the younger cleric may be suitable to become a Singer of Concordance, and offered to accompany him for the first part of his journey. Along the way he taught Ioth some of the ways of the singers and, when content with his pupils knowledge, introduced him to the ways of the Singers. Not much longer after this the two parted ways, both out to carry Io's hope to their kindred. Since then Ioth has tried to live his life as he believes his teacher and friend would want him to, passing along his lessons to his kindred as best he is able, trying to offer some hope in these dark times.
