Background[edit]

Taciturn and sparing of words, Ivan Tarovic only smiles when he’s happy, which gives him a severe affect, especially among people he doesn’t know well. Once a medical tech of no particular accomplishment working for one of the Towers’ numerous self-made kingpins, he suffered severe headaches; after one, he was mugged and taken aboard a mining vessel by a press gang that was conspicuously badged with the company’s logo. He served on board that until they let him off... at the Black House. Upon his graduation as a psychic, he received a transfer of credits and a note that said, in his native Russian, “Go. But when I call, you will come.”

Since that day, he has served on many ships, getting farther and farther away from civilization. His hope is that, should his mysterious patron call, he will be too far away from the brutal politics of The Towers to hear it, let alone to come.
