Edges

Attractive: Adds 2 to Charisma.

Rich: 3x starting funds (no annual salary, as Ixbal doesn't have a rich patron anymore-- this was taken to represent his expensive starting gear -- technically his dead master's property, along with Ixbal himself).

Gladiator: Years of fighting in the pits have given experienced gladiators an exceptional talent for dirty fighting and psychological strategy. Gladiators receive a +2 bonus to perform and resist combat tricks, as well as a +2 bonus on either Taunt or Intimidate.

Acrobat: +2 to nimbleness-based Agility rolls; +1 Parry if unencumbered.

Florentine: +1 vs. foes with single weapon and no shield, ignore 1 point of gang up bonus.

Ambidextrous: Ignore -2 penalty for using off-hand.

Block: +1 to Parry

Hindrances

Overconfident (Major): Believes he can do almost anything and never wants to retreat from a challenge. He's not suicidal, but he certainly takes on more than common sense dictates.

Big Mouth: Can't keep a secret very well. Reveals plans and gives away things best kept among friends, usually at worst possible times.

Quirk- Vanity: Ixbal is quite vain and ready to believe the best about himself. He is very succeptable to flattery and other appeals to his vanity. He is also preoccupied with maintaining his personal appearance, once delaying an important bout in the arena because "his hair wasn't in place"-- never mind that it was in total disarray by the end of the fight.

Physical Description

Ixbal is tall, muscular, and good-looking -- traits which wouldn't be so obnoxious were he not so keenly aware of them. His long hair is bound into a topknot, and secured with an ornate, lacquered pin. Bits of jewelry glitter about his ears, nose, chest, and arms, the latter of which are elaborately tattooed. He typically wears only a loincloth, sword belt, and sandals when not expecting a fight, with perhaps a linen cloak to keep the sun off. If there's danger about, he'll go armored (probably the case at present).

Personality

Supremely confident (and more than a little vain) Ixbal sees himself as an artist and entertainer as opposed to a mere brawler, and revels equally in personal combat and maintaining his appearance. He enjoys the good life when he can afford it (and often when he really can't), and blows what money he earns on fine food, wine, and pleasurable company. Despite his irreverent nature, his impulsiveness, and his tendency to be a bit shallow, he's loyal to his comrades and their collective interests.
