Background: Jarod Overton was born in the late 70’s to an American diplomat father and a Chinese mother. He spent the formative years of his life bouncing back and forth between Washington D.C. and mainland China depending on the assignments his father was handling. When Jarod was 10, his father retired from the State Dept and the family moved to New York, so that his father could work in the business world. Always a difficult child to entertain, Jarod began making trouble for himself. In an attempt to teach the child discipline, he was enrolled in a local martial arts school that kept him entertained through high school, but only barely kept his inquisitive brain occupied. College came next at the request of his parents, the chemistry degree the culmination, but the desire to stretch his limits led him first to the Army recruiter and then to EOD school.

Jarod quickly became hooked on the demolitions world, devouring information on explosives, materials, electronics, and construction. His passion for his work attracted the attention of a young woman who he soon married, but his dedication began to slowly push her away. When the Iraq war kicked off, Jarod volunteered to go, serving one tour then immediately volunteering for a second. It was too much for his wife who delivered the divorce papers to him while he was standing in formation to leave for the desert. After his second tour, Jarod left the Army and took a job with Blackwater, followed by several other PMCs. The work was challenging. The contacts and equipment available in the private sector were amazing, and the pay was out of this world. Even with his ex getting half of his yearly pay in alimony and child support, Jarod was pulling down more money that he knew what to do with.

Mr. Overton is a strange contradiction. He can easily bored one moment and intensely focused on a given challenge the next. What is apparent, is his total sense of self control. After the last half decade or so, the world of PMCs is now familiar to him, the life of the mercenary no longer strange.
