Jaropluk Pavelim
Jaropluk (JAR-o-pluck) is Kaylob’s father. Still alive, and now living with dwarves, Jaropluk is an aging gnome originally from the upper Eren. Jaropluk was captured by goblin slavers following the destruction of his family’s raft town. Another slave at his side was a pretty young dwarf named Nastra Restorol. She wasn’t as young as she looked and acted, but Jaropluk fell for her all the same. Once they had escaped bondage, the two of them set off on their own, with a young one being born not but a few short weeks after gaining freedom. Though, the salad days were short-lived. While the young family secured lodgings for the night in a gnomish trading barge, four very capable gnomes came in and took Nastra away, kicking and screaming. They tried to hold Jaropluk back, telling him that they were told to bring all dwarves in for questioning by the local assayer.
Young Kaylob was a dwarf as well, and had to go with his mother.
Again Jaropluk and Nastra had to escape bondage, but this time they were on a river. Jaropluk stole two light rafts and they managed to escape, but along the way, Nastra got lost.
Jaropluk raised Kaylob as best he could in the following years, traveling all over the countryside looking for his lost love. Jaropluk was an amazingly devoted husband, but as a father he was very irresponsible. At a very young age, Kaylob left his father to his crusade, and went his own way to fend for himself.
Jaropluk now travels through the Kaladrun Mountains, looking for Nastra’s family, and to see if they have heard any news of her. Kaylob keeps in touch with his father, and came with him to Shadowhold. These past four months Jaropluk has been speaking with a group that is distantly related to Nastra, and finding a way to divine her location. Kaylob desires to help his father, and to please him, but has little to offer.
Jaropluk is a fairly slight gnome with an impatient attitude and a great capacity for laziness. He is driven, however, to find his lost love. Jaropluk has a level of wildlander, and a few levels of rogue. The distance he has kept between himself and his son have allowed him to practice a more dangerous lifestyle than Kaylob would like to imagine.
