Appearance
Tall and lanky (for a dwarf) Jasper wears good-quality clothing, but functional. Unlike many dwarves, he eschews ostentation and outward signs of wealth. His sole concession is his fine cloak of black bear fur, which was a gift from his mother when he went out into the world. He is as bald as a coot, but wears his luxuriant ginger beard in twin plaits tied with white ribbon.

Personality
Grumpy, surly, foul-mouthed and irascible (he refused to learn the Hill Dwarf tongue on general principle, addressing other dwarves he meets in his own language), Jasper can always find something to grumble about. Usually the fact that "it's too bloody cold!!" He has one saving grace - he is very good at what he does.

What is he doing here?
Jasper has been out in the world for around 5 years now, drifting from place to place selling his skills - he is an extremely competent locksmith with no ethical qualms about opening locks which do not belong to him!
