Background[edit]

Jhila is the scion of a long-established House. That it was established by a pair of scruffy adventurers is...usually not mentioned in polite company. It's not widely known, anyway, outside those with an interest in tracing noble bloodlines. The Greymantles have done a fair job of managing their landholdings, and care for their peasants--in the same fashion as a farmer will take good care of his livestock. That doesn't make the pig the equal of the farmer.

However well-managed, the Greymantle holdings are small, and can only produce so much. And they suffered a setback a couple generations ago--Grandfather was swindled back in the day by one of those up and coming merchant-lords. So the family is less prosperous than it might appear. Jhila didn't always want to be an adventurer; she has a more calculating motive, seeing it as a way to garner wealth, prestige, contacts--and combat experience--which might be used to advance her house. And while it may not be the career of her dreams, it beats making an alliance through marriage.

Besides, she always liked a challenge.

Trait: I am gracious to everyone--peasants have their place in the scheme of things too, after all.

Trait: I sometimes forget that not everyone had the advantages and privileges I grew up with.

Ideal: Ambition: I seek to improve the status and influence of my House.

Bond: My honor is my life.

Flaw: I can't resist a challenge.
