Back Story Joshua was born in the 1960s in Southern California and had a rather normal childhood. However he was always trying to learn something new from a book, and wherever he went he had a book with him that he would pull out whenever possible. The rise of new technologies, especially the computer was incredibly fascinating to him but he had no way of using one. Until college that is anyway, as he spent all of his time in the university’s computer lap and majored in it. He was a quick learner and graduated with no problems. The Strip was looking for computer technicians to make their systems better and to keep ahead of anyone who was looking to game the system and actually come out on top. It was a good life, being a part of the prospering part of Las Vegas that got its living from the Strip. Of course, this ended when a vampire that was also working for the casino took an interest in Joshua and all of his knowledge. While most vampires would have just made him a ghoul and a pawn in the Danse Macabre, this vampire saw things differently, Joshua represented a class of humans that were going to embody the future, and Joshua’s sire recognized that fact. It would be far better to Embrace him and help the Kindred change with the times rather than let themselves be lost. So he was embraced in 1989 b a man who called himself simply Gregor around Josh. He taught im about the undead condition and the Danse Macabre in genral, as well as the teachings of the Carthians, which Josh found to be likeable as his impoverished upbringing left the Invictus with a sore taste in his mouth. And the other covenants didn’t have much appeal to him as they were bus dealing with stuffy mysticism of one type or another.

Of course, dismissing other vampires was easy to do when Josh was just providing tech support to the Carthians in various ways, as well as meeting all the facets of Las Vegas and networking and establishing various connections. With a vampire running around killing other vampires though, that changed. Josh’s tech skills have grown over the years to make tracing people at the very least feasible, if not easy. He was tasked with using all of his resources to track him down, and he was more or less successful. Granted, he wasn’t the one who sent the diablirist to Final Death, but that didn’t matter to him, he was the one who made it all possible and that was all that mattered to him. The other Kindred that he worked with now share a communal haven and even though he thinks their beliefs can be silly, he’s more than willing to help them with their own tasks in the same way that he tracked down the diablirist. As long as he gets something back in return. Meanwhile he’s been able to maintain his job on the Strip and it does pay well, leaving him enough money to get what he needs.
