Kerry is a planet of contrasts. Its coastlines are relatively densely populated, the land masses then jolt up into massive difficult-to-traverse plateaus. There it has large stretches of wilderness and is virtually uninhabited. Kerry's exports include microfine electronic parts from Peña Micro, the Grav Plates from Yoyodyne Enterprises, and Hardwoods from the interior of the continents.

Peña is the capital and largest city, as well as the largest space port. Peña appears to be a modern city with gleaming towers suspended above the small alluvial plain. Despite this appearance the large expanse of the city is primitive. People ride horses or mules past the mag-lev trams, plasma lights illuminate the tumbledown shacks leaning against the modern buildings.

  • 24 May 2521, Village of Shepherd's Hope: It was razed by Reavers and further terrorized by repeated visits by a particularly persistent Reaver. The crew finds the village's children hiding in the attic of the village school house. Along the way, we encounter the crew of the Corsaire and its captain, Lovewell. They are Reaver hunters and chase the Reaver when he comes back to the village, allowing us to get the kids out.
  • Summer 2522 - Attempts to form a planetary government have failed again over issues of the number of representatives from different areas. Smaller settlements worry about that the urban, coastal areas will have too much power. A result is a slightly balkanized planet with different regions looking for support from whoever will give it - a regional power, an independent group, or even the Alliance.
