Backstory he fifth child and third daughter of the Heriot family, Mina was a bright, lively young woman with a reputation for being, simply, pleasant. While not entirely fictitious, those few who actually knew her at all well were somewhat aware that the common perception of her was rather deliberately constructed and maintained by her. Behind her mild facade she has a remarkably sharp mind and an even sharper, if usually merely jesting, tongue, as well as a deep drive. Knowing that there would be little to inherit after her older siblings and lacking the physical prowess that had gotten her eldest sister into the prestigious Knights of the Golden Lion, it seemed for a while that she had settled for simply marrying well. And, in a way, that was correct. Not that she had the faintest interest in her husband, however. He was, though, unoffensive and, even better as far as she was concerned, in quite poor health. That his sister Katharine had immediately captured Mina's heart certainly did not hurt the situation for her.

Planning to simply keep her new husband comfortable and unaware of the relationship that had begun in the Carnall family home, Mina moved quietly but quickly to ensure that she gained control over the lands and finances and, briefly, was happy. And then a servant with far too much of an attachment to her master and some very unsavoury friends decided that the two women would be perfect for the purposes of her cult. Despite his ill health, Robert Carnall fought to defend his sister and wife but was overpowered, as was she. Mina was only barely able to defend herself, reaching the siblings in time to see the end of both. Following that, events led to the Carnall estate burning to the ground, Lady Mina limping out with Robert's pistol in one hand and Katharine's necklace in the other, her old dreams of wealth and comfort as dead to her as the woman she loved. Instead, all she had was revenge and a maid who, eventually, told her who to get it on.
