Description[edit]

Slight and wary, this figure is mostly hidden within a voluminous black hooded cloak that looks well-used and frequently repaired. When she allows herself to be seen, she has the distinctive appearance of a Drow: blue-grey skin; fey-pink hair in tight curls; full, fey-pink lips; silver eyes; and elegantly tapered ears. She moves efficiently, carefully, and she carries the minimal and well-worn equipment of a veteran traveler. A worn staff of some grey, purple-veined wood rests in her right hand, and a spell book rests at her left hip.

  • Biography: There were so few of us. Routed yet again from the place we'd had found, again by the hated Duergar, we survivors had wandered, hungry, in search of a new place with food, someplace sheltered from the traffic of the Underdark. We thought we'd found one. Scouts were dispatched to evaluate it. I was dispatched to make sure we weren’t being followed. I heard the screams and came running back, but the Drow, and their Driders, had struck swiftly and lethally. They would never forgive our heresy. We'd already lost our elders and our best fighters to the Duergar. We were easy pickings. I hid, and watched as everyone I knew was picked clean, and then wept. I had a little food. I could forage. But the Underdark was not a place for a single young person of any race. There was no longer anything for me here. The surface… well, I knew it was hostile, but could any place be more hostile than this? I made my way up carefully, camping cold, subsisting on lichen and fungus and beetles, until I found myself, filthy and exhausted, staring up at stars for the first time. The lack of a roof terrified me, made my head spin. But here, maybe, I could survive. Here, maybe, someone would hear my tale. If they didn’t kill me first. But if I died, I'd die knowing that I'd given it my best try. With a deep breath, I climbed up into a new world.
