History/Backstory

Emily "Em" Gateau was raised very much in the theater, born to a family that had known fame. She studied her acting, but it was hard to get a break, so she also studied prop-making, costuming and general theater construction to ensure that she could find work in the field, ultimately finding work doing just that as well as some other generalized costume and light carpentry work. Then came the Storm, and she gained a dangerous power-- she could generate explosions from her hands and feet. A destructive power, and one that had only limited uses-- could she really do anything good with that? But she was determined, and rehearsed tirelessly, while also constructing a costume designed to channel her blasts to limit collateral damage, and also to channel the force from her feat well enough to let her actually fly! (After a fashion. Rocket flight isn't very finely maneuverable, as it turns out) But that was enough for her to fight for her city as Thrust!
