M-105 WATS pattern squad support weapon: the M-105 was laid down by a tech priest named Wats. He was tasked with developing a weapon to deal with recent orc incursions. Wats began with the standard autogun, and working with only sanctified parts, he established a pattern which could easily be replicated.

Beginning with a standard autogun, the M-8 Pitbull. Wats then swapped the barrel for a heavier one, more capable of dealing with the strain of firing multiple rounds. He also took a cooling sleeve from a common las-cannon pattern and wrapped it around this heavy barrel. Adding a bipod and adjustable stock, Wats found that he had a reliable weapon that could maintain a high rate of fire. Wats then adapted a new ammunition receiver, capable of accepting three standard Autogun magazines.

Five hundred M-105's were produced and distributed at the squad level. Units receiving the weapons gave it high marks. The weapon was lighter than Heavy Stubbers and capable of laying down an extended rate of fire. Able to use standard magazines, the special weapon trooper could swap ammunition with guardsmans armed with standard autoguns. Another advantage of using three combined magazines was that the weapon could be 'topped off' by swapping partially empty magazines for new ones. Also, in defense situations, an assistant gunner could swap magazines while the gunner focused on firing.

Wats revised the M-105 prototypes by adding an adjustable shoulder stock and an attachment point for a lamp. With these additions to the design, Wats produced several copies of the pattern and sent them to Mars for final approval. However, pending Orc incursions led to the weapon receiving permission to procede into production by the Master Fabricator of Wat's forge world.
