Ghouls are humanoid monsters that eat people. They are usually undead, walking corpses like revenants and most vampires, but some fantasy worlds have living ghouls or people who have become ghouls without literally dying. Ghouls are sometimes infectious. A single bites or even a scratch from an infectious ghoul can be fatal, and after dying from the infection, the victim becomes an undead ghoul himself.

Shuffling Corpse
Not the fastest or smartest monster, but horrifyingly persistent, the shuffling corpse is essentially a zombie controlled by an urge to kill and possibly eat any person nearby. In fact shuffling corpses are sometimes called zombies, although they don't have a zombie master like the usual servant zombie. Shuffling corpses are usually unintelligent or at least inept when it comes to doing ordinary things.
Rabid Ghoul
These faster ghouls are driven by insatiable rage or hunger. They are sometimes even faster and stronger than normal humans, but they are still unintelligent or at least inept.
Stalker
Stalker ghouls are usually as intelligent as normal humans, sometimes even more intelligent. These ghouls are often similar to vampires and may have similar abilities such as increased speed and strength, improved regeneration and even agelessness.
