Meeting up with Duncan

a Quick response, as if he was waiting on one, "Bide! " She sees he is in battle. A large battle of cavalry on a uneven field. Fort puts his hand on Alex's shoulder, and she feels instantly sober. Fort says, "Now i regret sennding Agrom away. Want to step through?"

Alex looks at Fort and nods in thanks. "Duncan, i can come and assist the battle. " She won't step through if he doesn't allow it though. (Bide means wait right?)

"Don't know what Duncan wants." she responds to Fort

(yes.) A moment later she hears, "Dra? Of all the friggin... yes.. come through"

She smiles to Fort "Soryr to leave you so sudden. "

Alex then reaches out to Duncan and steps through.

"Obviously not expecting a call from me, right dear?"

Fort smiles, drawing a long knife, "Leave? Im coming along. Lets go"

Alex makes sure to pull Fort alone with her to Duncan. Alex takes out her bow right away, as it is an active battle.

"What is the situation?"

The battle is swirling, troops on horse with yellow and red clothes decorated with feathers fight Arden Rangers and a body of Amber troops. About 3000 of both on the field.

"Need me to enforce a group or shall i just run between shooting what i can? i assume you have command?"

Duncan yells, "Stick and move! Is that Fortunadus? Nice company you keep."

Fort is leaping from horse to horse slitting feather clad throats

"Will do and yes, just met him. " With that she starts to run between the chaos of the battle. Using all of her elite and Ranger training to duck roll shoot or jump shoot jump.

Alex makes sure she will not stand still using the tactic of the arrows Julian had taught her.

Of course when closer in cmbat she will use her knives to make the kill.

After an hour the feather troops break and head into a narrow valley entrance, two horse wide. Following troops come back tellign Duncan they evaded again. Duncan says, "They have pathway valleys. A few twists then a portal opens. We lost a few horse following them.. " He looks around " Hanagin, gather the pprisoners, see to their wounds. Jacla, see to our people. Make camp. Start food. " He comes off his horse, looking to Alex. "Care to scout around a bit? MAke sure they didn't leave anyone behind?"

Alex is cleaning her blades and looking ahead. Hearing Duncan she nods "Of course, i don't mind o scout around. Will meet up here again?"

Duncan says, "Yes, We'll Meet Fortunadus here after we scout. By the way, nice to see you Fort. I hear the battle at the Grroiseks went well. Still hunting stragglers?" Fort chuckles, "Mostly making use Alexandir and Julian down kill each other, Neither will remove their troops from the field, thinking the first that leaves lets the other claim victory. I am tempted to leave and let them kill each other. I couldn't pass up a little ultraviolence for the evening. You two have fun. Come back for breakfast. I'm making lemon biscuits and bacon for a thousand ..."

Alex hangs her bow on her back and waits for Duncan. She tells her pseudodragons to stay close. When Duncan is done talking she smiles "Lead the way, i'll follow. And good seeing you again. Heard its been a year."

He leads off, "A year in Amber. 4 years chasing these feather rangers. Distracted me from the Azcalan attack on Diago Raks. They also hit the Adren border shadow lands. " "Why was you card warm? Nothing we could do could find you. Clarissa is furiuous. Says you ran off With Alexei to get hitched'

Alex follows "I have no clue Other then that proximity to Chaos must not have helped. Dad had send me to Fane of Zilla to check on some things. He send Alexei along to watch out for me." Alex keeps a good eye out and speaks soft. "Clarissa gets often weird ideas. I'll make sure to explain soon."

Alex nods. "I heard from Fort. It is understandable. If you don't know when and if you second returns duty keeps going it doesn't wait. Jaque will do well, al be ot a bit harsher. "

"Interesting, who would have thought. Then again in Azcala there must also be woods to live in." She looks at Duncan. "Isn't that the standard theme with Azcalans. Destructive and slightly insane."

"Sounds right. Still... I didn't suggest a long extensive for trip just to hunt them. "

"Well no, i get that, but you know how it can go. Unexpected events or actions of those you hunt. Can lengthen an excursion like this." "Downside of duty, it can take us away for longer times. " Alex chuckles "I once heard, the line of life is a ragged one between duty and desire. Once you fulfill duty your wants will be neglected, if you fulfill you wants, your duty will falter " ((Yes i had to use my Alex qoute from FB))

Alex nods "Of course the Wyer and being the Warden of Arden is to much together." She smiles big to Duncan "I might already know what to do with my time, Fort offered an option for some of my time. "

Alex laughs "Oh yes yes i've heard that, do not worry as i also told Wendyof the Worldly i am very faithful to one man. " She winks to Duncan. "Well he suggested to perhaps go to a bardic college. Would learn alot more about other things. Wouldn't mind that.

He thinks..."THe Bardic Colleges are not Part of the Golden Circle academic traditions. It would be interesting to here your impressions of them. I don't know much about them.

"Right and don't get me wrong mom had planned quite the path for me, but this does pique my interest it is something else. Don't get me wrong, i loved being a knight elite and i love being a ranger. But change of spice...." She looks around the area as the scout. "And no the college is in Plymouth as i understand. But good chance with the war going on i might be called to duty as well. And need to douse some fires first like that with Clarissa"

"I hear Mydoris insulted Alvah and Vek took him to the woodshed. Arlo says he thinks in all his time as a warrior and tournement champion in Regor he never fought anything like Vek in his Chaos form. Vek fled Amber soon after."

"Well yes i get why Clarissa is furious then, thank you for the warning, steering clear of her. though i do need to warn dad then about something, he can take the bad news to his mother. " Alex grins. "Then we'll see what orders i'm given or left to my own devices. if so, i might take Fort up on the offer"

"The Tosians are an interesting group. Bleys is terrified of them. Benedict respects them but is deeply certain that he and Alexandir will have to fight. Random is considering offering someone from there Golden Circle status. Maybe going there you can figure out who?"

"Oh really, well there you go, i could even do something usefull still for the crow." she smiles "Lets clear this round, if all goes well i might leave for Amber tomorrow. set things straight and suggest this to King Random."

He steps to her, grips her collar and her sword belt. "Well, this region seems clear. How shall we fill the time before dawn, when Fort expects our return?"

Alex gasps in shock then grins "Are you saying Commander Warden that we can leave our duty be for now? I am sure we can make up for some lost time before breakfast."

Alex with a big smile walks back with Duncan. Sniffing the air if there is already breakfast being made or not. "Are you okey with it if i leave today? i guess the hunt for you will continue on right? If King Random allows i will try and get to one of the bardic colleges. "

Duncan says, "Consider yourself on extended leave. You can always return to the Rangers of course. Till then, stay cagey."

she pecks a kiss on Duncans cheek. "Thank you love, and i know. Arden and the rangers have always been a home to me. and me cagey... " she huffs. "well i'll try to make sure not to drink or smoke to much, i tend to rattle then."

When back at the camp Alex looks for a fresh pot of coffee. Or fresh enough and some possible ood for herself and Duncan. She seems very happy. Looking forward to her new path.
