Melog[edit]

Melog

Female Teifling?

Former Magical transforming robot girl

Former Mecha

Former Battle pet

Power Level: Depends on her orders

Melog began life as a fire breathing fish, she was raised in a farm and one day given to a young humanoid to protect him on his travels. She served well and fought hard, soon transforming to her final form of a fire breathing water snake. Then their continent was invaded by giant mecha using enemies. Her body was thrashed in the initial onslaught, and the defenders used her brain in the creation of one of their first mecha. With her now half-machine master as the pilot Melog once more proved her fighting spirit; The duo almost single handedly battled back the first wave, and were crucial elements in the rest of the war. Eventually peace returned and Melog was transferred to a peace keeping unit, and a smaller body. Here she experienced humanoid life for the first time, she didn't like it. Although she now looked like a typical young female her mind was that of a servant creature. Her master was aging and had refused further cybernetics. She split her time between caring for him and trying desperately to fit in with the other robot girls in her squad. Her successes were marginal in the social arena, but it help that her years of combat experience made her nigh unstoppable when the shit hit the fan... even if she wasn't particularly creative, subtle, clever, or concerned about preventing property damage. She took orders well and got the job done. Then her master finally died, it wouldn't have been easy for Melog, but it happened just a day before a demon lord decided the best way to get the magical transforming cyber girls out of his way would be to turn them into humans. It worked up to a point, the girls became humans and the demon lord was able to slay them one by one until it was just Melog. At this point Melog had just over sixty years of combat experience and nothing left to lose in her mind. She won, but by the time she had, she'd regressed to an almost primal state, they found her feasting upon the demon lord's entrails. After much counseling she was told she would be given the opportunity to live as a normal member of society and make her own way in the world. The poor creature lost it. The thought of being on her own after so many years, stacked on her recent trauma, triggered a psychotic break. That's when they learned why it's a bad idea to eat demon. Melog sprouted spines and a tail, and began spewing hellfire. Unable to figure out what to do with her, the society sealed her in stasis and left well enough alone.

Time grinds on and eventually Ms. Ming came across the stasis capsule after it had been uncovered in a sandstorm. She brought it home, well she called Magdalia to bring the capsule home. and they decanted her in the infirmary. It's been a year or two since then and Melog now appears to be about high school aged. She tried to be a maid, but her combat instincts are so hardwired in that when she was told to get rid of a vermin infestation she started tossing grenades at mice, and using the flamethrower on cockroaches. How she got the flamethrower is a bit of a mystery. Zhi declared her an adventurer that day. Since then she's mostly just taken care of any big nasties that try to wander into the artifact without wiping their appendages on the welcome mat, ... with extreme prejudice.

Melog appears to be a typical teen-aged tiefling female of average height (5'8), until you look closer the tail sports a fin rather than a spade and is covered in black fish scales, the horns on her head coil like a ram's but behind each there is a row of webbed spines that goes down to the base of her neck. Her black hair and blue eyes are healthy but not extraordinary. A cybernetic neuro-jack is visible, behind the left ear. She wears simple functional outfits, a back pack, a belt with many pouches, and a bandoleer. She carries a repeating crossbow, a flamethrower (which seems redundant because of her own ability to breath fire on occasion), and a combat knife as her main weapons. These are supplemented by the ammo, potions, and alchemical weapons she carries in her various pockets. She is also known to keep extra rations, a blanket, and a picture of her late master on her person at all times. Tough and experienced, Melog fights like a professional soldier.

Melog isn't a leader, she prefers to take orders from the highest authority on the scene. Most of the time since her awakening that meant the staff, and especially Zhi. Now that there are other adventurers again she's reluctant to take orders from someone else. However anyone that shows leadership potential can count on her support against enemies, and the other adventurers, as long as you don't expect to break any of the rules of the organization, and remember to wipe your appendages on the welcome mat before coming inside.
