Once a regular NYPD officer, Mister Gimmick became a superhero after volunteering for an experiment by State University that turned him into a powerful, highly versatile cyborg. He remains an agent of the NYPD, and often acts as their public face in situations involving supervillains: His upbeat, somewhat goofy personality has kept him well-liked by the public.
