A fan-created line for Chronicles of Darkness. Characters are humans infected with a strain of alien biology, becoming something in between the two.
Setting[edit]
The introduction goes over the basics: what Monarchs are, where they come from, and what they try to do. The Glossary goes over game-specific terms.
Character Creation[edit]
Monarchs have a set of base abilities, inherent to their template. They are inherently part of their Clade, and choose a Caste to belong to. Caste determines the Principalities a Monarch can easily learn.
Special Rules[edit]
Monarchs have two forms: their former human bodies, and a more powerful, more alien Noble Form. They control Colonies, smaller, lesser creatures that act as a swarm, and Servants, single, more powerful creatures. They organize into Courts, and attempt to form hierarchies. Monarchs struggle with Autonomy, balancing independence with control.
Antagonists[edit]
Monarchs are not alone in the world. In addition to each other, they must contend with Geodiscs (and the hunter group they spawned, Haans-Chowdhury Productions), Ronin Enterprises, other dwellers of the Beneath, and the very Kingmakers that created them.
