Fanatic Dialis Special Rules[edit]

Battle Prayer - The Fanatic may not move or attack on the first turn of any battle, as those few moments are dedicated to prayer to the Gods.

Forbidden from Arms - The fanatic dialis will not wield a weapon of any sort. This is reflected in his "bare hands" basic attack above.

Fanatic Dialis Tricks[edit]

Novicius Gladiators have 0 tricks. Palus Gladiators select 3 tricks. Primus Palus Gladiators gain all 7 tricks.

  • Augury of Spilt Blood

Whenever an enemy Gladiator is taken out of action, the Fanatic gains one Augury point. At any time during his own or any allied gladiator's turn, the Fanatic may spend an Augury point to allow any single D6 on an attack roll to be rerolled. The new result replaces the previous result.

  • Chosen of the Gods

The Fanatic is a chosen by the gods, and gods-fearing men hesitate to approach. Any enemy human gladiators moving into a square adjacent must pay +1 movement point for that square of movement. This is a Fear effect.

  • Everyone loves Jupiter!

At the start of the battle, if this Fanatic is in the arena, his school gains +1 point of Crowd's Favour.

  • Eye of Fear

Instead of making a melee attack, the Fanatic may use his Eye of Fear on an adjacent opponent. That opponent is moved 1 square directly away from the Fanatic. This is a Fear effect.

  • Inspiration of Jupiter

Any allied human gladiators adjacent to the Fanatic deals +1 damage with melee attacks.

  • Performance

At cost of 4 movement points the Fanatic may engage in performance oratory. If he does so roll a D6. On a roll of 6+ his school immediately gains +1 point of Crowd's Favour.

  • Will to Live

The gladiator receives a +1 bonus to the dice roll on Survival checks.

  • Charging spear

At the start of his turn the Fanatic may choose to replace his normal move and attack, and instead make a charging spear attack. If he does so, move him up to 6 squares in a straight line, then make a melee attack at an enemy directly in his path. If the charging spear attack would not allow him to reach and attack an enemy, he cannot use this trick.
