Mutsuhito Bushi School[edit]

by Atarasi Jitenno

The Mutsuhito family was formed from the Daigotsu family, once the Obsidian Empire was founded, and the Dark Lord’s name became exclusive to his line. They are the closest to the Throne of all the families; as Mutsuhito as the first human to pledge loyalty to Fu Leng, they are the most dedicated family in all the Three Clans to serving his chosen son, the Obsidian Emperor.
Though most of the family joins the Obsidian Legions, they have their own bushi school, created by the first Lost to take Mutsuhito name, Mutsuhito Shikano. She was a brilliant defensive warrior, to whom no task was too daunting, and her skill with the lighter armors were unmatched by any. Using her natural ability, she formed several techniques that capitalized on defensive fighting, and thus the Mutsuhito Bushi School was born.

Techniques
Rank 1: Way of the Moth
Out of all the dojo in the Three Clans, none emphasize the use of armor as much as the Mutsuhito, and as such, none are its masters the way they are. While wearing light armor, the TN bonus of the armor is increased by your Air Ring. Additionally, you gain a bonus on all attack rolls equal to the number of Raises you call on the roll.
Rank 2: Shell of a Warrior
The Mutsuhito have learned that there are several methods of overcoming the protection armor offers, and have devised a technique to help overcome this. When in light armor, your TN bonus from armor cannot be reduced to less than your Air Ring, and in the Full Defense posture, your TN to Be Hit bonus from armor is doubled.
Rank 3: Shield of the Ninth Kami
Those who are strong in belief are protected by Fu Leng’s favor. You may make an additional attack per round. Additionally, you add your Theology rank to your TN to Be Hit.
Rank 4: Mastering the Art
On the battlefield, the Mutsuhito bushi is a fierce warrior. Untouched by the blades of his enemies, he remains fresh and ready long after his foes have tired. Your TN to Be Hit bonus from light armor may never be reduced or negated. When declaring Raises on an attack roll, you now gain a bonus to the roll of twice the number of Raises you make. This replaces the bonus gained at Rank 1.
Rank 5: Taking the Fight to Them
Fully mastering the use of armor, the bushi’s training turns to offense. While in the Full Defense posture, you may attempt an attack. When making the attack roll, you must declare four Raises and spend a Void Point to no effect other than allowing you to make this attack. The attack roll is made unmodified by any bonuses you would normally receive.
