Backstory[edit]
Mei's parents had met in the netherworld, and grown close while fighting in the Secret War. Nick would have liked his child to enlist and become a Navy Seal like himself, but as the Seals still don't accept women, and he didn't approve of her becoming a pirate, she ended up being sent to Netherworld Academy. Growing up listening to tales of their deeds, May feels the need to prove herself worthy of them, and there are two things she hopes to accomplish - finding the treasure of the Ruby Rose, a ship rumored to have been lost in the Netherworld, and destroying the Black Spectres, an organisation known to aid terrorist activities via the Netherworld.
