New Kalmar
The Moons of Himinbjorg declared themselves Independent from Alliance and refused to sign on as Allied worlds. The moons have an all volunteer merchant marine that defends the system from pirates and other dangers. They have no official defense force, but have insisted that all vessels flagged in New Kalmar be armed and on call to defend the system and visiting vessels. They have not made any hostile actions towards naval vessels, but the moons have refused to pay Alliance taxes or refuel their vessels.
The Alliance has chosen to simply ignore this declaration, but since it maintains only limited economic interests in the area, it doesn't press.
