Organizations on Ash-Tree Earth[edit]

Major Organizations[edit]

Council of Four[edit]

Ruled by Lord Entropy, Imperator of Destruction, Desecration and Scorn, the Darkest Lord, it is accepted as the governing body of Earth by both Heaven and Hell. Under him, he has power over armies of lesser miraculous beings, his own personal Nobles who are more powerful than most others as well as well as the ultimate authority over all Imperial resources for the War on Earth - including all Nobles on Earth with a Chancel there. Alongside him, there sits the following

  • Ananda, Imperator of the Fourth Age, Murder and the Infinite and the kindest and most merciful of the Four.
  • Surolam, who is unknown but a traditionalist who cannot stand things changing
  • Ha-Qadosch Berakha, who votes to bring himself the most advantages and who is most likely a Magister of the Wild - though his Estates are not known

These 4 Imperators all make up the Council of Four that are to rule Earth. Of all these, Entropy is the most dynamic, and Ananda has seen something that will not allow his vote and that of Entropy to go against each other, because of the end it would bring.

It has spies almost anywhere, and no one can tell quite how many subordinates Entropy can call to himself - though the Cammora obeys his commands without question. At least for the moment.

It is also in command of the Locust Court.

Atlantis Project[edit]

A massive underwater Chancel, called Atlantis, where all Noble Alchemists go to work, making weapons for the War. To avoid the danger of an Excrucian attack, the Chancel is protected by several Alchemical Items to help preserve it.

Here, the metal of Jotunheim, transported by those of Chancel Scylla, are sent to help enhance the skill of Alchemy among all Alchemists, be they Noble or mortal.

All Alchemical Items are stored in massive, heavily defended vaults, with soldiers of Lord Entropy, summoned beasts of High Summoning and Alchemical Items all offering safety from Shards trying to get close.

Any Noble can request an Item - and then have their name and title put in the Archive where the Court can know if they should use an Item for a wrong purpose. When they request for one, they are granted it, by a being with the Perfect Timing Gift (and, should they only borrow it, someone with Perfect Timing will come and regain it for the Atlantis Project)

Currently, there are about 300 Nobles who work as Alchemists in this Chancel. They are the ones who provide the Atlantis Project with its true wonders, such as Imperial Miracles removing Immortality, or other such things.

The mortals, on the other hand, provide massive amount of lesser alchemical items, that can be granted Nobles who need it, or to simply make life more comfortable for the Noble Alchemists. They outnumber the Nobles, though none that isn't a member can tell by how much.

Night of Chancel Lasciel is a member of the Atlantis Project.

(Inspired (read: shamelessly stolen) by the Manhattan Project of the real world)

The Circle[edit]

A group of High Summoners, they have been created to use their Other-Selves beyond the Wall to find out anything they can about the place Beyond Creation, as well as to allow Creation to use soldiers on the other side of the Wall against the Enemy.

All Nobles who are High Summoners are considered, by the Circle and the Society at large, to be part of their organization - the same goes for all mortals who have any kind of talent with this.

They, unlike the Atlantis Project, are not focused in a single Chancel, instead prefering to meeet at seemingly random places to make sure the Enemy can never quite manage to find them.

They have some rules, for all members (that is, everyone with High Summoning capability) that must be obeyed

  • Record every kind of being you have ever summoned, and freely share it with others of the Circle.
  • Whenever you are to summon some being that has never been tried before, inform others of it to prepare for problems that might come.

The last one is mainly for mortals

  • Never summon beings you are not certain you can control

Currently, there are around 100 Nobles on Earth that are part of this organization, and who provide most of the truly powerful summoned beings.

There are quite a bit more mortals, though they generally don't summon anything that can't easily be controlled by their own knowledge of High Summoning.

Walker Beyond the Eternal is a member of this group.

Chancel Scylla[edit]

Main providers of Jotunheim metal for the Atlantis Project. Beyond that, they also provide anti-gravity ships, portal technology as well as miraculous favors and excellent areas for training soldiers, should they think their business partners would have use of it in time.

They use their favors to arrange for there always being several Nobles coming for any particular area an Excrucian might have appeared near, that they know about, acting to move everyone against the Enemy.

Thanks to the massive favors owed to them, they are one of the most powerful Chancels around, at the moment.

They consist of the following Nobles

  • Glass
  • Irony
  • Order/Holidays
  • Pearls
  • Shadows
  • Walls
  • War

Along with several personal friends across several Chancels (Light, for instance, is a friend to Glass, and Death is friends with Shadows).

Currently, they are starting to get into conflict with Chancel Decarabia, a group of Nobles serving a Fallen Angel. Both Leviathan and Meganekko owe them favors.

Chancel Decarabia[edit]

A new group of Nobles, they serve a Fallen Angel and specialize in producing items that those allying with Hell might wish to use. Beyond that, they also provide lesser ideas for the Dark to use.

Finally, they act as a place where those of the Fallen can deal with each other in neutrality, without being in risk of physical harm.

At the moment, they are getting into a conflict with Chancel Scylla over a small issue they have, regarding Decarabia trying to get Festivals to interfere in a deal Scylla tried to get going. They probably don't like Leviathan and Meganekko.

They consist of the following Nobles.

  • Contracts
  • Merchants
  • Treachery

And they have several others they can call on for aid, should they need it. Festivals probably would help them, should they need it

Experiment Chancels[edit]

3 Chancels that have been made into an experiment, by the command of Lord Entropy - 1 from the Wild, 1 from the Light and 1 from the Fallen Angels. For this, putting themselves in line of sight of the Excrucians, the Council of Four and the Locust Court they command has granted the Nobles of the 3 Chancels leniency with regards to the Laws and Code Fidelitatis of Lord Entropy. Leviathan and Meganekko are part of this organization.

Other Organizations[edit]

The Library[edit]

A massive tower, that gathers all knowledge on Earth that exists - maintained by the Dominus of Knowledge. Any and all information is gathered there, and all kinds of Nobles can go there to gather some inforation. Generally, Knowledge requires that one tells him something new, or swears that they will do so, should they learn something he might not already know.

It is seemingly infinite in size, at least when someone is inside looking for something, and the bound things that guard it are no less impressive. Here, almost any kind of information that one might seek can be found - as long as it concerns Earth and/or the War.

Endless Prisons/'Alcatraz'[edit]

Something known by all Nobles - when an Immortal (or particularly weak) Enemy comes upon them, they are either killed by Alchemical Items/High Summoning/weakness of their Immortality or brought to the Endless Prisons - a sequence of Chancels surrounding Alcatraz Island and acting as a place to study the Enemy by ripping apart their being and finding out what makes them work. Quite a lot of what the Society knows about the Enemy comes from this.

Generally, any Enemy who enters is put in Alchemical Items capable of creating limited Imperial Miracles.
