Protection[edit]

This is your training for wearing armor correctly without having them interfere too much in your normal activity.

Proficiency: Light, Medium, Heavy

Description: This skill represents your ability to efficiently wear armor without being encumbered. Each rank in armor reduces your Combat penalty by 1 from wearing armor. Maneuver penalty is reduced by 1 for every 3 ranks and Precise Maneuver penalty is never reduced with this skill.

Feats[edit]

Armored March[edit]

Your maneuver penalty to movement is reduced by 1.
Specialist: Your maneuver penalty to movement is reduced by 2.
Expert: Your maneuver penalty to movement is reduced by 4.
Master: Your maneuver penalty to movement is reduced by 8.

Armored Nap[edit]

You are allowed a constitution check to avoid fatigue when sleeping in armor. The DC of this check is 10 + Maneuver penalty.
Specialist: You can sleep in medium armor without being fatigued.
Expert: You can sleep in heavy armor without being fatigued.

Fast Donning[edit]

The character knows how to put an armor on more effectively thus reducing the time it takes to put it on by one initiative category.

1 Heavy armor cannot be don alone, you need the help of another character.
Specialist: Time to don armor is reduced by two initiative categories.
Expert: Time to don armor is reduced by three initiative categories.
Master: Time to don armor is reduced by four initiative categories.

Increased Protection[edit]

The character knows how to wear an armor more effectively adding a +1 bonus damage resistance when wearing that type of armor.
Specialist: Add +2 damage resistance bonus
Expert: Add +3 damage resistance bonus
Master: Add +4 damage resistance bonus

Independent Donning[edit]

The character has learned how to efficiently don a heavy armor without the help of someone else.

Weight Tolerance[edit]

The character knows how to wear an armor so its weight is less encumbering. For encumbrance purpose, count the armor as only 90% of its weight.
Specialist: Count the armor as only 80% of its weight.
Expert: Count the armor as only 70% of its weight.
Master: Count the armor as only 60% of its weight.

Description: This skill represents your ability to efficiently use a shield without being encumbered. Each rank in shield reduces the combat penalty of a shield by one. Maneuver penalty is reduced by one every 3 rank and precise maneuver penalty is never reduced with this skill.

Feats[edit]

Buckler Defense[edit]

When you attack with your offhand weapon, you may still apply the cover bonus from your buckler.

Increased Protection[edit]

The character knows how to use a shield more effectively adding a +1 dodge bonus to Defense when using that type of shield.
Specialist: Add +2 dodge bonus Defense.
Expert: Add +4 dodge bonus Defense.
Master: Add +8 dodge bonus Defense.

Phalanx Fighting[edit]

If you have an ally on your side that also have the Phalanx Fighting Feat, you can increase by one the cover provide by your shield. If you have two allies with the Phalanx fighting feat, one on each side, increased the cover bonus by two categories.
Specialist: You gain the cover bonus even if your ally does not have the Phalanx Fighting Feat.

Shield Bash[edit]

When you perform a shield bash, you may still apply the shield's cover to your Defense.
Specialist: Any shield bash you make with a small or large shield also affects your opponent as if you had performed a bull rush. You don't actually move into your opponent's square or incur attacks of opportunity for the bash. You also can't move your opponent back more than 5 feet, nor can you move along with the defender. You can't use this feat with a buckler.
Expert: You can now move with your opponent that you bull rush.

Shield Charge[edit]

When you attack with your shield as part of a charge action, you inflict x2 normal damage.
Specialist: You inflict x3 normal damage.
Expert: You inflict x4 normal damage.
Master: You inflict x5 normal damage.
