While Santo Domingo is the start of our history for the New World, our history only covers the Europeans. In truth it goes back much, much further. The Tainos knew of the spirits and Zemis of the island, but most have been lost and forgotten with the extinction of the Tainos. Outside of one or two exceptional scholars, and a few Taino ghosts, no one knows much of the old gods, the most powerful of the Zemis. Except, now, they want back. And they're growing impatient. Hurricanes and Earthquakes are only the start. The established powers know that something is coming, and are preparing for the worst.
