Appearance': Otto Von Blitzschlag is in his early thirties and is a man of considerable charm, wit, and erudite mannerisms. He prefers dressing in the finest Karrnath fashions and has chosen to shave his head rather than allow himself to slowly degenerate into baldness like future ancestors. He has a fondness for military uniforms but hasn't yet gone so far as to forgo normal attire completely.
Background: Baron Otto Von Blitzschlag is a figure that always dreamed of a better world for the Werewolves of the world and the Shifters. A proud Karrnath warrior, he once restricted his hunting to the evil doers of the Blitzschlag County and all those who imperilled the security of Karrnath. He attempted to follow the ways of Boldrei and treat the peasants as foolish but ultimately to be protected from the wrath of predators without nobless obligation like himself. He was prepared to takeover the County of Blitzschlag, which was affluent enough to be a Warlord's domain but maintained ancestral servitude to the Gruden Warlordship, by ruling over a greater barony when he came of age.
The Last War has changed all of that.
Ironically, it is the spurning of a human woman that has destroyed his faith in the human race. A man, initially, engaged to one of the lesser daughters of Queen Mishann of Cyre. He revealed his true nature to her and was stunned by her horrified reaction that resulted in the scar over his left eye from a silver dagger. Furthermore, he was disgusted by the fact that his 'monstrous' nature was soon added to the propaganda that was used by her mother against Karrnath.
Otto Von Blitzschlag would join King Kaius in waging a war against a woman that he believed would destroy his entire family (along with driving the Empire to ruin). The repulsive behavior he witnessed from the Church of the Silver Flame in Thrane against shifter communities, the ruthlessness of Cyrean tactics, and Aundair's cowardly use of magic against honorable soldiery repulsed him. In the past four years, he's been forced to use ever more brutal methodry against his enemies.
Otto Von Blitzschlag's current alliance with the Blood of Vol and Lady Kazandra of the Children of Winter is something that he's kept from King Kaius, a man that Otto has intimate company of (King Kaius' enjoyment of both male and female company being a matter of public record). Otto believes that any and all methods should be used in preparation for defeating the enemy. Nevertheless, he's certain the King would approve of it. He's equally certain the monarch would never approve of his current plan.
Otto intends to use a weaponized virus against the acquired provinces added to Karrnath in order to pacify them. He, furthermore, intends to begin preparations for a large scale infection of Karrnath troopers with them being trained as a 'Werewolf Brigade' against the Silver Flame's warriors. Otto is, as yet, unaware that the Emerald Claw intends to use his plague for much more than just wiping out enemy humans but afflicting the entirety of the nation. In the future, the last lingering remnants of his humanity will die because of this and he will force himself to hate all human beings in order to cope with the guilt for his part in the death of so many Karrns.
Personality: Otto Von Blitzschlag is an arrogant aristocrat but far from the psychotic pseudo-Nazi that he'll be in the future. He still has a sense of honor, fair play, and loyalty to his home nation with his distaste for humanity being little more than a mild racism. His belief that there is a coming Winter that will destroy much of Khorvaire is based upon some mistaken evolutionary reports he believes that imply transformation into Lycanthropes is a natural development and they are a kind of "Master Race."
Otto Von Blitzschlag is exceptionally polite to women, a avid duelist, rather vain, and bisexual.
