(*)These skills do not incur the -5 penalty for ‘No Skill Level’

Some skills such as 'language' and 'pilot' for example can be taken multiple times for different types.

A number in parenthesis such as (2) is the multiple in skill points it requires to increase that skill. Some skills such as Martial Arts have multiples depending on the type taken.

Background[edit]

Rust main page St Jude pendant, patron saint of lost causes. (Given to her by her best friend on the day she met her husband to be. It was intended to break her streak of bad relationships. )

I think my character would be a Federalist - a traditionalist. She would have voted to stay with the status quo.

Thea started her medical life as a doctor with the CDC, when she married she decided to buy into a small suburban medical practise. She became pregnant soon after, for a while she and her husband, Ethan, (a psychologist) were doing okay. Then the stresses of both of them working, and trying to balance their family life, started to push them apart. She’d underestimated the amount of time the practise was going to take up, and her husband’s practise was also taking up a lot time. Then came the downturn, it actually saved their marriage. They owned their own home and even a cabin in the mountains, financially they were okay. With the downturn both of their practises also took a nose dive, which meant they had free time to work on becoming a family again.

Trips up to the cabin most weekends to go bike riding and then horse riding, just spending time together. It was great, until the plague hit.

Ethan got the disease first, she always wondered if she’d brought it home. She did know in the beginning that she’d skimped on the necessary hygene routines. Really does any one consciously wash their hands for a minute before they touch food or other people? The guilt was hard to bear, she became a lot more hygiene conscious worried that she’d bring it home to Donny her 7 year old son. She struggled on working as a doctor doing a couple of days a week for one of the neighbourhood groups that had sprung up. Seeing private (that’s a laugh) patients for the rest of the time. Her patients now paid her in drugs food cigarettes or even alcohol. Then her son got sick, not the disease but something every bit as life threatening. Type 1 Diabetes was still a killer before the disease but insulin supplies were now non existent, for two years she struggled to keep him alive with black market supplies and carefully monitored diet. But then he got a stomach bug, just a minor reaction to some old potatoes but it was enough to push him off the knife edge he was balanced on. He died.

With his death she had was just going through the motions, she no longer cared about her patients and started isolating herself from the neighbourhood. When she was passed out while treating one of the gang members that made up the security arm of the neighbour watch, someone pushed her towards one of the hospitals. She came to in a chair in the waiting room, she knew what was wrong with her, not eating or sleeping regularly, screws up your system royally. She found herself helping the doctor on duty, her knowledge of medicine, chemistry and botany being very useful in trying to find alternative treatments for many of the common drugs that were no longer available.

She wound up working there some of the time in the clinic but a lot of the time in herbarium someone had set up. She’s been coming out of her shell a bit now and is starting to wonder where she can make a difference.
