Quunsados: A race of humanoid like insects, with an additional pair of arms and a head like an ants, this asexual beings dominate the galactic mining industry, boring out entire planets within a matter of days, lacking neither sleep nor rest. They absorb nutrients as they process the ore they consume while mining and excrete (defecate) a purified ore, removing all the trace metals. Miners from different worlds often have radically different colored carapace, the trace elements working their way into the chitin. Relying on massive hive ships, able to contain entire planets worth of metal and roughly a trillion members to ferry them from planet to planet, they sell the inedible metal to other races, who see this race of planetary locust swarm as a valuable source of goods for refinement. Every member of this race is sentient, and an individual. However, they are raised that the good of the hive comes before the comfort of the self, and most shun such things as free time, and laying down, or even stopping to smell the roses, as humans put it. This, coupled with a life expectancy of roughly three years, makes them a very dedicated race. Their spirituality comes from a sense of awe and reverence for those who came before them. Ancestor worship is common, but only for those who are willing to stop for the few minutes it takes to kneel at the shrine, when they could be working.
