High school was hard on the young man, he was bullied to no end. Small for his age, he was a constant target for all of the "cool" kids.

He graduated third in his class and thought about a collage education, but his father was more interested in him following in the footsteps of his father, grandfather, great grandfather. There would be time after his four years in the military to go to collage, plus "it would make a man out of you" his dad had told him.

Boot camp was very difficult for the young man, he was still a target, but he was getting stronger and learning to defend himself, he was supposed to be a radio operator, but out of boot camp they sent him for a short recon mission in the desert, then he would go off to tech school.

He was slow in getting up that morning and was late for morning chow, he ate quickly and loaded up his pack, then there was the flash of light.

He saw the fireball approach and just closed his eyes, it looked like this was it for him. The blast went through him, changing the vary nature of his body, he felt nothing.

The exposure had turned him into a cloud of killing radiation.

Radium was found floating along in the desert, after killing several plants and animals. The army made the armored suit to contain his form, and to keep him alive. Without it he will fade away in time (he has no immunities, and it is a permanent form).
