Military life sucked, he did not want to be there, the men in his squad did not want him there, NOBODY wanted him there, exept for that high and mighty judge. It was either a job, night school and a GED or army. As it turned out he should have selected the job and school, his drill instructor took great pride in signaling him out.

It took him five months to complete the two and a half month boot camp, it took awhile, but he did learn that they had more fun keeping him around then just letting him go home. he had decided to complete the boot camp and then punch his new CO at his next post, maybe they would kick him out.

After boot camp he received his next assignment, but first he had to go on this hike into the desert.

When the bomb went off, he was suprised. Why would they nuke their own guys? That was the last cohereant thought that he had.

The blast burned his body, bad. He had to stop the fire, he went looking for water, he needed to cool off, there was nothing. The medics showed up after a fight of some sort and took him back to base, his burns would have to be treated in a hospital. On the way through the base, he saw what he needed. Water, lots of water.

He broke out of the ambulance and ran to the officers pool, the fence did not stop him, the men that approached him did not stop him, though they tried.

The water was great, he would never leave it. He found that he could stay underwater as long as he wanted. His swimming was made much easier with the tail.

The guards started shooting at him as he surfaced, it was getting had to enjoy the swim with all that ruckus. He decided to go and find another body of water to relax in. More guards died at the pool then in the ambulance, it was fun to here their bones snap. he was going to enjoy looking around for a place to stay.

Because of his strange appearance and his love of water the press named the villain Ray.
