Background

You are refugees, fleeing the destruction of the city you loved, the City of the Dead. Not a week ago, it was sacked by the Army of Light, one of the foremost organizations dedicated to the spread of "good" in the world. You fled the destruction, but the desire for revenge burns in your hearts, and binds you to your companions. You may not trust them. You may not even like them. But sticking with them is your best shot at getting revenge.

A note on the campaign style: You will be villains. I expect you guys to act as such, and that means being proactive and coming up with your wicked plans. I'll also note that I'll generate the world based on a map and demographics information in the DMG, and this medieval population generator. I'll also point out that if you decide to become the bane of random villagers, their feudal lords will be obligated to send forces to defend them, and that random villages will be likely to have a number of random PC classed NPCs of sufficient level to prove a challenge.

Character Guidelines

Level: 6 Alignment: Any evil Allowed sources: Anything on the WotC website, the SRD (except for Domain Wizards, Gestalts, and the variant stuff that alters game rules), Savage Species, Manual of the Planes, Eberron Campaign Setting, Sharn: City of Towers, and Shining South, because those are the books I have. If you want to use anything else, PM it to me first. Note: The party will have an undeath/decay theme. Whether you're necromancers (wizards, clerics, or otherwise), undead yourselves (incorporeal undead rock as rogues), Paladins of Slaughter/Tyranny, etc., you'll need some sort of link to the theme. Starting gold: 13,000 gp. House rules: Hobgoblins have +0 LA. Kobolds use the buffed-up kobold rules here. Karrnathi Skeletons have a +2 LA, and Karrnathi Zombies have a +1 LA.
