Background[edit]

Repentia's life started on a ship and she's pretty sure (or at least prays) that she will die in the cold embrace of the Void. For her, she could see life and death in no other way. Originally born on an Imperial Navy vessel and as such, conscripted into service, she was lucky enough to have been a part of the Officer Caste. She was not destined for anything special, or so she thought, with both parents of middling importance and rank. She was trained in all the various general courses for pre-Officer preparation school and on her aptitude tests it showed her having a great deal of promise as a future Augery Special Officer. Other tests would have shown that Repentia was utterly ruthless and determined with a genuine touch of psychopathy in her personality. Luckily for her, those tests were not administered at the appropriate times. Repentia studied, trained, killed, and screwed everyone in a position of authority (and many who were not) to become one of the youngest junior Auger Officers in the Calixis sector on a her Sword Class Frigate - "Emperor's Fury" in the past century and was well on her way to murd... maneuvering herself into the more senior position (and the promotion to Lieutenant Commander, and the SENIOR staff quarters!) when everything went ploin-shaped.

There was a God-Emperor forsaken mutiny on the ship. All the Loyalist officers were put to the wall, the ship was in turmoil for days with Armsman fighting against Armsman and each side's force fighting for control of the Bridge and the ship. Repentia was not senior enough (although she had quite a following of men and women...) for the Traitors or the Loyalists to have been interested in. She was scooped up in the first wave by the Traitors and tossed into an Underdeck prison until all the fighting could be sorted out. She was to be released after everyone that needed being shot was and then They could figure out what the fate of the junior officers and specialists would be. Her parents, however, were not so lucky: killed in the first hours as Loyalists and vacuumed into the Void with the others. Repentia knew nothing of their deaths and also figured to be released soon. Unfortunately, the provocateur that rounded her and some of the others up and threw them into the Underdeck, was killed in the fighting as well.

Long story short: the young Lieutenant worked, kicked, fought and screwed her way over the course of months back to the "dividing line" of Deck and Underdeck, taking no small pleasure in the last few kills she notched (they being of the few bigger and stronger Underdecker scum that thought they would survive having their way with her when she first arrived) with her other escapees, many of whom were devoted to her from the time above and when she had more official "authority." She took back to the operating decks like a shadow amongst the shadows. Her allies reconnoitered the ship and she realized with a dread that she would not be terribly welcome in the new regime. With a bit of help from her allies (never "friends" always "allies") she used them to stage sabotage all across the ship while she stole off in a Hercules Class Heavy Shuttle with a strong enough plasma drive to limp her into the closest space station. Setting up her shills (see "former allies") she claimed to have been an abducted Imperial Naval Officer as she bound her own wrists right before docking. The forged ID cards, marking her allies as Imperial Criminals (and now kidnappers), that she slipped into their belongings were more than enough proof to give credibility to her story. Her ID was fake as well, using her mother's old ID (a striking similarity in holo-pict) making her a more senior officer, she was able to get free of the Adeptus Arbites clutches (after being interrogated for what seemed like days) and plied her way with her specialist's skills across the Calixis Sector under her new name: Repentia.

When she heard the call of a Rogue Trader while in Port Wander, having just finished a contract getting a vessel to that location, helping them avoid the prying eyes of the Imperial Navy she was ready to (realistically!) kill to get aboard that vessel! "A Rogue Trader!" she thought, "Above the Laws of All!" When she first saw the Captain and saw the power and ambition within her eyes, she knew she had to be had by her. Immediately. She paid off everyone in Port Wander she knew for information about this mysterious Captain and placed herself right in her line of fire... she "interviewed" fantastically, at least that's what she thought in the hours afterwards. In another meeting with the Captain she demonstrated an almost Mechanicus-level knowledge of Augur arrays as well, her professional expertise was without compare.

Her lightly blue-skinned body and dark soul was willingly given to the Krydiss Dynasty, she enjoys her life now more than ever with her new Best Friend and Sometimes Rival, Chastitia and the Amazing and Driven Captain, Varla Krydiss, she knows she will become a standout and have her own Cruiser to wield in Her name soon. It's just a matter of time. It's either that, or die trying (preferably in the Void, not Dirtside!)
