He grew up in one of the lower reaches of a hive, tinkering with every bit of disused tech that fell from the higher levels, until he managed to get apprenticed to the Adeptus Mechanicus, finding religion and a scholarship to a better life. He became quite adept at designing, installing, and building bionic implants, including the special parts that are needed for a servitors. His design eventually earned him a pilgrimage trip to Mars to study some of the holy texts, takes a trip around the system finding some lost tech from the Dark Age of Technology that changed his life forever, showing him a new way. It changed his view of the Omnissiah as he heads back to deal with more heretical ideas in making servitors smarter, or getting rid of some vital implements. His worst heresy would of course be killing the Machine Spirit of a Titan and reanimating it in an unholy mockery of what it once was, despite the fact it turned from an unwhiedly machine that would kill it's riders as well as the enemy to being relatively functional. The captain found out about this act that woudl get him stripped of his implants, so now has an expert in servitors and overcoming various machine spirits.
