Safid and Angelo: One good turn

"Is she worth the effort?" Safid grinned. "My view of this has been interesting."

The two men were moving quickly between filthy back alley walls with implanted addicts curled up in passion. Knocking twice on a door, Safid waited for it to open. A quick glance back at the other man confirmed it; the guy was either a college nerd or a spacer. No endurance for the back streets. Given his age and money, definately a spacer. Safid had seen enough of money from him in the past couple months to know that if a number was agreed upon with this guy, that number came forth. Just because he found the capo's daughter a bit too entrancing didn't seem to affect his ability to count.

"Such beauty deserves to be uncloistered." Angelo huffed from the pace. "I am merely helping the process along."

The door opened and they walked in. Quickly entombed by the heavy steel as it shut, Safid knew the joint. A few twists and turns led them to a stairwell. "Upstairs, third room on the left. There's a panel behind the dresser that lets you into the next building, and then you can hit the front street to go to the classier joints." He looked at his watch. "Back here 0515 sharp?"

"Most assuredly!" Angelo smiled. "Unless she tires of me first. However, I try to avoid that. It's all in the pacing."

"Money?"

"Usual place, usual amount. Plus a small bonus."

"For what? We agreed on five hundred."

"Most people don't complain if I overpay for excellent work."

"You don't know the same people I do, I guess."

Angelo chuckled. "You never know, do you? Anyway, this will be our last adventure, I feel. You said you had matters on your side wrapped up?"

Safid bared his teeth. "Quite nicely, actually."

Angelo extened his hand. "Then she will be upstairs alone when we're done. Good health and fortune to you."
