Savage X-COM: Tachyon Squadron Planes

XFS-105 Raven Interceptor: The 105 is the most advanced VTOL fighter jet on the planet, which uses a dual turbofan-pulse detonation system with four engines to achieve unmatched speeds and maneuverability. As of this moment, it is the only air vehicle on the planet that has demonstrated any capability to keep up with UFOs and match their maneuverability. Manufactured by Lockheed Martin, using technology furnished by the Council, X-COM has received the first run of these futuristic air superiority fighters, and set them up in airbases on every continent on the planet.

The XFS-105 contains a very modular design, in order to make anticipated technological developments easier to incorporate into the structure as the war progresses.

The pilots of X-COM have questioned these fighters, noting how different the design is from any other fighter jet on the planet (the Raven makes a fifth generation fighter jet look like a prop plane), and how they seemingly came out of nowhere in time for the invasion. Persistent rumor around the base is that they’re an early prototype of reverse engineered alien technology, but X-COM Command has refused to confirm or deny these rumors. Regardless, it remains the only reason that humanity has a hope in the battle in the skies.

The shields stat represents the electro-reinforcement on the hull, a technology developed shortly after the invasion that allows the jet to better absorb hits from alien plasma fire by covering the surface with an electronic field that dissipates high energy plasma bolts.
