Platoon composition[edit]
A platoon is made up of 3 line squads (totaling 27 men) and 5 scout lances (totaling 25 men) and 2 heavy weapons squads (totaling 18 men) with a Platoon Sergeant (ranked a Staff Sergeant) and Lieutenant in command. Thus, a platoon totals 54 men.
Troop composition[edit]
A troop is made up of 8 platoons of 54 men each (totaling 432 men) and a 28 man headquarters and support element (including the troop commander and Master Sergeant). Thus, a troop totals 460 men. The troop is commanded by a captain, with the staff officers being lieutenants.
