[lazarus] I'll probably go for XP. Cause this machine apparently has a key for it.

[lazarus] it does rock. Actually, for a pure network drive, what I really want to do is drop a simple Linux distro, headless, with Samba.

[lazarus] well, from what I've seen of 7, it behaves like an actual OS should behave. Not like the sort of hybrid thing XP is.

[Theresa] "Good answer. And current."
[DanteE] "Shadows? When did Barakiel want a lawbreaker?"

[Kite] "Do you have any specialties, Lisa?"

• Kite is now imagining Lisa taking samples from books and testing them in secret library laboratories.

[Random_Nerd] William: "And I know that you're going to say that that's not enough time to prepare. But I'm /good/ at organization. Half of my day job involves running a substantial portion of this country."

[Random_Nerd] William: "We haven't made final plans for that, but when we do, I'll let you know."
[DanteE] (Any important dates on the cosmic calendar fall around then? :) )
[Brian] "And the other half of your day job involves managing _us_. Somehow."

[Random_Nerd] William: "Oh, he volunteered two weeks ago."

[Kite] "I don't even understand it, Shadows."
[Theresa] "Tell anyone what?"
[Random_Nerd] Shadows: "They're, like, these guys that morality doesn't apply to. Tricky."
[Theresa] *to William* "Did he offer the cathedral? He doesnt' get to show it off very much. The cloth of gold is getting dusty."
[Random_Nerd] Lisa: "So... are you the Man with No Face or something?"
[Kite] "That helps. Thanks."
[Random_Nerd] William: "Oh. Uh. Lisa, this is the Power of Shadows. Shadows, this is my fiancee, Lisa."

[Random_Nerd] (Standing next to him is a tall skinny woman. She's actually about an inch and a half taller than William. Her hair is a reddish-brown, but not the bright red of William's, and she has a skinny, rawboned sort of look.)

[Theresa] "Everythings fine, although something..small's in the clock tower. May be the imp, but whatever it is feels like something connected to Nobles."

[DanteE] "The Imp shouldn't be showing up...

[DanteE] "Where is it?"
[Random_Nerd] (When last you saw Dollphaniel, she was in the Library.)
[Kite] "Where does Gnomely live?"
[Brian] "we should investigate the clock tower ... maybe Summer Glau's Head came back?" *looks at Shadows*
[SnowWhite_n_7D] "In my place in the ex car graveyard"
[Random_Nerd] Shadows: "If it has, it wasn't me this time."

[Theresa] "Hmm, did we leave the pigeon running?"
[DanteE] "Let's find it regardless..."
[Random_Nerd] Shadows: "Oh, that's a thought. Give me a moment. Pigeon! Come here, boy!"
[Random_Nerd] A toothy dark maw appears in the stone wall of the building.

• SnowWhite_n_7D open aside compartment and take some cookies and a bowl of milk
  

[Theresa] (*checks again*)

• SnowWhite_n_7D toss them in the jaw

[Random_Nerd] It coughs up several styrofoam cups, a pencil sharpener, and a roll of paper towels.
[Brian] "I still can't believe you call that thing a pigeon."
[Random_Nerd] (It looks like it was the pigeon you sensed.)
[Random_Nerd] Shadows: "Hey, you guys named it."
[Brian] "we did?"
[Random_Nerd] Shadows: "Wasn't that you?"
[Brian] *shrugs* "Actually sounds like something we'd do. I just don't remember right now."
[Random_Nerd] Shadows: "Who /was/ that, then?"
[Theresa] "I think Sam did. And yep, this i what I sensed."
[Kite] "Kudzu's Nobles do have a knack for names."
[Theresa] *to pigeon* "Sorry to keep you waiting on us"
[Random_Nerd] Pigeon: "cough cough, grind"
[Random_Nerd] The pigeon coughs up six pencils, of varying degrees of sharpness.
[DanteE] "This thing is from Outside, right?"
[Random_Nerd] Shadows: "Originally, yeah. Why?"

• SnowWhite_n_7D give the car keys to Will "is your"
  

[Random_Nerd] Shadows: "Arguably, part of it might still in a sense be Out There. This is just part of it."

[Random_Nerd] Another toothy maw appears in the sidewalk.

[Random_Nerd] The spiral of teeth in the throats of each ripple in unison.

• Kite drops a pebble in the sidewalk pigeon.
  

[Random_Nerd] It gulps, and the pebble disappears.
[Random_Nerd] Shadows: "Now, the issue of where that pebble actually /is/ right now is rather an interesting one."
[Random_Nerd] Shadows: "I believe it works a little like a croetic key of sorts, where the mouths provide access to the things it contains."
[Kite] "Does that mean you don't know or that you do and the answer is fascinating?"
[Kite] "Oooh!"

• SnowWhite_n_7D put a manipulator inside pigeon
  

[Random_Nerd] Shadows: "It means that if I had a whiteboard, some markers, and some time, I could give an explanation that none of you would be able to follow."
[Random_Nerd] Shadows: "Please don't do that..."
[SnowWhite_n_7D] "Why?"
[Brian] "I might be able to follow it ... I'm good at non-trivial spacial geometries, you know ..."
[Random_Nerd] The pigeon latches onto Ftisk's arm, and grinds furious.
[Random_Nerd] (Ftisk, are you Durant or better?)
[Brian] "The math would probably be all screwed up anyway!"
[Theresa] (If Dolly gets drunk, does Shadows have to play with Ftisk?)
[SnowWhite_n_7D] (wait I lookup I think I'm durant but not sure)
[DanteE] "Maybe we can send Dollphaniel through and track it."

• Kite looks at Pigeon eating Ftisk's arm. "Is this a bad thing?"

[Random_Nerd] (Okay. You do not take any damage to your arm from the grinding)

[Theresa] "How much are supernatural braces?"
[Random_Nerd] When Ftisk pulls his arm back, the end of it seems to be missing. Ftisk, you can still /feel/ the end of it.

[DanteE] "Does that happen often, with the grabbing?
[Theresa] "See, this is why Sam did not want to use the pigeon as a transportation."

[Random_Nerd] Ftisk, do you do anything to prevent the pigeon from eating the dwarf?

• Kite is a bit at a loss for words, what with Ftisk White missing an arm.

[lazarus] it was a fun session, and with several of us fried from classes, and several of us (with overlap) fried from illness, it's not a bad thing to have a slow and short session from time to time

[Verithe] I was on an airplane, so Kite was a bit too distracted to interact, anyway.

[Verithe] It was international, so I even got meals and movies!
