[Ftisk] HI!
[BethE] Hi guys! *HUGS*
[Verithe] Hi!
[Verithe] How's your arm today, RN?
[Random_Nerd] It'll be another week or two before it's 100%, but I can type okay.
[Random_Nerd] Just... no playing sports, lifting heavy objects, or the like.
[Random_Nerd] And the splint's been off for a couple days.
[Verithe] *nod*
[BethE] Vacaaaaation...
[Verithe] Yay?
[BethE] Yay!
[Verithe] Yay!
[BethE] I do not have to go to work until the Monday of the new year.

[Ftisk] I'm till day 3/2011
[Knockwood] Hi guys
[Ftisk] Hi Knock!
[BethE] Hi Knock!
[Verithe] Hi!
[Random_Nerd] Hey.
[Random_Nerd] So, let's wait a little for Laz, and then start without him if he isn't here.
[Knockwood] so, how's everyone doing?
[Random_Nerd] Wrist mostly healed, splint off, brain finally out out Finals Week Mode.
[BethE] Tired, now on Christmas vacation, brain not worky! ^^
[Ftisk] I'm fine, vacation fall on me. Relatives installed... Strolling around home mostly... :-P
[Verithe] That's because brains are replaced with sugar plums once Christmas vacation begins.
[Random_Nerd] Brains. I remember having brains.
[Knockwood] sauteed?
[Ftisk] I have brain... near new .... maybe warped like new... somewhere in some closet.
[Random_Nerd] So, let's see. We had two plotlines going on, the brainstorming and the cult forming. Since the former seems to have stalled out, any objection to having this session take place on Dionyl, and be the beginning of a story arc dealing with Kite's new cult?
[BethE] No objections.
[Ftisk] is k001 actually!
[Verithe] That's fine.
[Ftisk] ah, loook: http://www.purdue.edu/impactearth
[Knockwood] Hm... would we be able to advance our char arcs?
[Random_Nerd] What do you have in mind?
[Ftisk] and at work I have this language as language of choise for sw development: http://www.domiclipse.com/domiclipse/web.nsf/d6plinks/lolcode-editor
[Random_Nerd] Ah, Lolcode.
[Ftisk] yep
[Verithe] I was wondering if I wanted to permanently add a dionyl form to Kite's shapeshifting gift, what would I have to do as per the new rules?
[Random_Nerd] Hmm.
[Ftisk] start a project?
[Random_Nerd] Yeah.
[Ftisk] an –REDACTED- one?
[Random_Nerd] It's a minor addition, so you'd probably only need a –REDACTED- Project.
[Random_Nerd] Although it's possible that you can already turn into a dionyl. Let me look at how we built your Gift.
[Random_Nerd] Drat.
[Random_Nerd] We don't have a listing for the points breakdown.
[Random_Nerd] But given the level, that's probably One Trick, or Limited Uses at the most.
[Random_Nerd] So, yeah. –REDACTED- project.
[Random_Nerd] Come up with –REDACTED-, and we'll run it through the Project system.
[Knockwood] what are your current forms?
[Verithe] Alright.
[Random_Nerd] Human and bird.
[Verithe] Stymphalian bird and human. Right.
[Ftisk] so probably is onetrick
[Random_Nerd] Yeah.
[Random_Nerd] Okay, no Laz yet, so let's get started.
[Random_Nerd] Anything before we start?
[Ftisk] none
[Knockwood] We're good
[Verithe] Nothing else for me
[Random_Nerd] Okay.
=-= Verithe is now known as Kite
[Ftisk] wait a sec
[Random_Nerd] Oh?
--]| Lazarus (~Laz@MagicStar-25D9D3C6.storm.ca) has joined #Nobilis
[Ftisk] I contacted him on fb
[Ftisk] tada!
[Random_Nerd] Hey, there we go.
[Lazarus] (oops)
[Random_Nerd] Hey, Laz.
=-= BethE is now known as Theresa
=-= Lazarus is now known as Brian
[Random_Nerd] We're starting a new story arc focusing on Dionyl and Kite's cult, any objections?
[Brian] Hey. No objections.
[Random_Nerd] _____________START___________
=-= Knockwood is now known as DanteE

  • Ftisk sit on Theresa shoulder

[Brian] (going to get some more food. AFK a bit.)
[Random_Nerd] Aided by some slight alterations to the tires, the Dantemobile glides smoothly along the surface of the quicksilver canal.
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "Now, I know you've been to Dionyl before, but there're a few things to keep in mind."

  • Kite splashes in the canal.

[Kite] "Yes?"
[DanteE] (...don't think of the old Batman theme...)
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "The first one is that you guys, all of you, are religious figures to them."
[Ftisk] "me too?"
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "Yes. Every Noble."
[Kite] "I'm afraid the implications of that are currently lost on me."
[Theresa] "Huh, I wouldn't think fleshy Nobles would be much to them."
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "The second thing is that Aides... Sam, William, and me... well, how do you normally see us?"
[Theresa] (With our eyeballs!)
[DanteE] (::rimshot::)
[Ftisk] "As helpers?"
[DanteE] "What do you mean?"
[Theresa] "Ooo, are you guys high priests?"
[DanteE] "oh, and let's not forget to look in on Gaius."
[Ftisk] "Ah, I get it! You are like our saints!"
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "What's William's job? If someone on the street of Amyra sees him, what will he think of him."
[Ftisk] "Will is a martyr"
[Kite] "That he's an important person. He has a Badge."
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "But yes. Priests, pretty much. They're the people who intercede between normal people and gods."
[Kite] "So, we shouldn't talk to them directly, but tell you what we want to tell them?"
[Brian] (b)
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "Well, it depends what you want to do. But just remember that any dionyl who is not in the Society will see anything you say or do as a Big Thing."
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "If you don't /want/ that, use us."
[DanteE] "How are they with dealing with fleshy folks like us?"
[Brian] "thanks Gil. That is good to remember."
[Kite] "Oh, okay."
[Ftisk] "uhm.... ok"
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "Fleshy gods are... disconcerting. Like how humans would react to the kind of gods that have tentacles and lots of eyes and so on."
[Brian] "Ftisk, no games."
[Ftisk] "What?"
[Random_Nerd] Sam: "Oh, that reminds me. The DA thing."
[DanteE] (Build an RPG around them? :) )
[Kite] "Unless it's Mousetrap. That's a good game."
[Random_Nerd] Sam: "It doesn't work that way here. Instead, if you do miracles around people, Domination people at least, they'll start to see things more like how you do."
[Random_Nerd] Sam: "It doesn't /hurt/ them. Not usually, at least, although I bet if some crazy Noble started doing it, that /that/ might."
[Kite] "Is that bad, Sam? Who run Dionyl and what laws have they imposed?"
[Ftisk] "Soo I can keep my constraints on heart? Wow wonderful!!!
[Ftisk] "
[Random_Nerd] Sam: "Nobody runs Dionyl the way Entropy runs Earth."
[Kite] "Oh? Excellent! Ftisk! You can love here!"
[Ftisk] "Yep! I can, really can"
=-= YOU are now known as tentacleMonsterFtisk
[Random_Nerd] Sam: "Instead, different gods run different cities. This is the citystate of Shelter. It's run by Seventeenth, the Angel of Boats, Liquids, and Commerce."
[Brian] "but you are a resident of Earth, and thus under Entropy's jurisdiction"
[DanteE] "How can we tell who's Splintering and who's Domination?"
[Random_Nerd] Sam: "Not here, not now. Entropy doesn't care what happens here."
[Kite] "Maybe you should leave your love with the cult so it's safe here."
[Random_Nerd] Sam: "If they're in a city, they're probably Domination."

  • tentacleMonsterFtisk weave a "yes I can!" flag on each tentacle, smiling

[Random_Nerd] Sam: "Splintering people... there aren't as many of them. They live off on their own, or in little monasteries where they hardly talk to each other."
[Random_Nerd] Sam: "I don't really get them."
[DanteE] (Heading for Gaius' place?)
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "But the main thing is, we're here for mainly two reasons. First, to talk to potential priests. Second, to look at temples."
[Random_Nerd] (That's on Gil's agenda, but not right off.)
[Kite] "Right. Which way?"
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "Take a left at the next fork, and pull up to the first dock on the right side."

  • DanteE heads there...

[Theresa] "What makes a good priest for you, Kite?"

  • Kite repeats the directions for Dante.

[DanteE] (And Kite's church already has an anthem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZThquH5t0ow )
[Random_Nerd] You pull up at the dock, and Gil hops out and ties the car to the side.
[Kite] "It should probably extol the wonders of my Estate...and my Family's Estates."
[tentacleMonsterFtisk] "extol?"
[DanteE] "Remind me, who's in you familia besides you and Ftisk?"
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "That reminds me. One of the interesting things here is that you represent Estates that aren't here unless /you're/ here."
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "That'll hurt you in some ways, but it'll help you in others."
[Kite] (Kite hates that song. ._.)
[DanteE] (What, you disagree with the sentiment?
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "You'll get a lot of curious people who want to find out just what Assembly /is/, and so forth."
[tentacleMonsterFtisk] (There are Machinery, Assembly and Magma defined to date)
[DanteE] (After all, to your cult, the bird _is_ the word...)
[Kite] "Brewnyr is our only other brother."
[Random_Nerd] Gil walks up to a gleaming brass building, with an outside shape that favors curves over right angles.

  • Kite nods worriedly at Gil's advice.

[Random_Nerd] He knocks on the door, and two large and burly dionyl open the door. You can tell that they're burly because they're wearing jeans and shirts so tight they may as well be painted on.
[Random_Nerd] Inside the tall silver-and-brass door, two Dionyl are waiting for you.
[Kite] "That may prove a little bit difficult. Maybe I should research what makes other Imperators so....whatever it is that makes them what I want Vulcan to be."
[Random_Nerd] One is probably male, and is wearing a long white robe.
[Kite] (Burly dionyl?)
[DanteE] "Or just sit under a tree until you reach Enlightenment"
[Kite] "I'd have to pick the right tree."
[Random_Nerd] The other wears a three-piece suit, and is unambiguously female.
[Random_Nerd] Suited Dionyl: "You haven't already achieved enlightenment? Why not?"
[Brian] (I am just picturing their shrine to Clothing)
[Random_Nerd] Sam looks at her, looks at Will, and seems confused.
[Theresa] "I can help with the tree."

  • Kite waves his cape at the suited Dionyl.
  • Theresa looks at the female. Look familiar?

[Kite] "Shush! Speak to my little person!"
[DanteE] "It's tougher than it sounds."

  • Kite indicates Gil.

[Random_Nerd] She /could/ be the one from the Aides office earlier. Or Luc's assistant. It's tough to tell. You're not much good at distinguishing Dionyl. Using an Aspect miracle?
[Theresa] (Kite - O.O )
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "She's in the Society."
[Theresa] (Sure, I'll miracle it.)
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "And he's, I believe, a freelance priest."
[Kite] "Oh. Right, then."
[Random_Nerd] Theresa, you're pretty sure that she's the same Dionyl from both previous places.
[Kite] "What trees are good enlightenment trees, Theresa?"
[Theresa] "Bodhi is one of the traditional ones. Apple also works."
[Random_Nerd] Suited Dionyl, to Gil: "We've already distributed the pointy bonnets, as your assistant suggested."

  • Theresa motions to Sam. "Can I have a quick word with you in private, Sam?"

[DanteE] (Wikipedia: the Bodhi tree is a specific Sacred Fig (pipal) tree)
[Random_Nerd] Sam nods, and walks over to Theresa.
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "These ones won't be handmade, but it'll be enough to get the basic idea across, I suspect."
[Brian] "pointy bonnets, Kite?"

  • Theresa whispers to Sam. "Okay, so this is the same chick that seems to be popping up all over the place recently. I dunno what you asked for of Blue Shock, but if it was for a girlfriend, I would take the 'running into you _even off world_' to be a major hint."

[Kite] "Perhaps one of our first initiatives can be to teach them to hand-make their own."
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "Ooh, that's a good one. It's a classic for a reason."
[Random_Nerd] Sam: "Wait, it really /is/ the same one? You're sure?"
[Kite] "Yes, Brian. I found some bonnets assembled from hat pins and had the artist make some more for my cult."

  • Kite beams with pride.
  • DanteE does a quick Div-Courage on both candidates to see what they're scared of, and thereby some of their motivations...
  • Theresa nods at Sam. "As much as my senses can tell. Then again, I'm still wary about Dionyl differences."

[Brian] "oh. Shiny, pointy bonnets. Gotcha."
[DanteE] "They can wear those?"
[Random_Nerd] (These aren't the candidates, yet. These are two people the Society sent over to be your handlers.)
[Kite] "We'll find out soon enough if they can't. That would be unfortunate."
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "Dionyl. /I/ can't wear one, but that's because I have blood that I need to stay inside me. But for a normal dionyl, they just swirl around the pins."
[DanteE] (AH.)
[Kite] "That's what I was hoping for."
[Random_Nerd] (The one on the left, in the robe, is scared that Kite's already been informed by Gil and Sam about Dionyl religion, and that he's useless.)
[Brian] (fun)
[Random_Nerd] (The one in the suit is worried that Sam seems to have recognized her from earlier.)
[Theresa] (Hee! ^^ )
[DanteE] (Yep, T's right)
[Brian] (who is that masked woman?)
[Brian] (she seems Important.)
[Random_Nerd] Suit: "Now, we've got a good variety of applicants for you here. All of them are skilled clergy who've been having trouble fitting in in previous positions, but are looking for a new god."
[tentacleMonsterFtisk] ( I can ldiv data on her)
[Kite] (It's Bess Wayne! Secretly, Bat-dionyl!)
[Theresa] (Kite - Ha!)
[DanteE] (is Sam back with us?)
[Brian] (btw, been watching M*A*S*H, and I want a Radar. Probably just an Anchor is good enough)
[Random_Nerd] (Theresa, you still have Sam with you?)
[Kite] "Wonderful! Who's first?"
[Random_Nerd] (Yep. Her name for human purpose is Clarissa, although her Dionyl name is Clarity. She's an Aide, currently not assigned to any Noble. The paper records on her are spare enough to suggest that most of the Aides' records are somewhere protected from your miracle.)
[Theresa] (Nah, Sam can go back if he doesn't have anything else to say to Theresa.)
[tentacleMonsterFtisk] (Kite - just ask me and I reply RN info to you)
[Random_Nerd] White Robe: "First is Brother Jonathan." He nods at the suited Dionyl.
[tentacleMonsterFtisk] (Sam too of course)
[Brian] (hm. I already have Sam as a Bond, I can Anchor him and turn him into Radar O'Dionyl. Well, he mostly is, but the anticipating needs before asked is not quite there yet ... :p)
[Kite] (Alright!)
[Random_Nerd] She looks at her clipboard, makes a checkmark, and then starts to lead you down the metallic hallway, opening a door for all of you to go in.
[Random_Nerd] The room is about the size of your conference room at home, or a little smaller.

  • Kite lets Gil go first to check for traps!

[DanteE] quietly, to Sam: "By the way, later you'll need to tell us the basics of Dionyl religion."
[Random_Nerd] In the center of the room is a large steel table. It looks like it was made by taking a larger block of steel and cutting away part of the bottom to make room for people's legs.
[Random_Nerd] Sam nods to Dante.
[Brian] "this reminds me that I want to study Dionyl biology some."

  • Theresa takes a position in the back.

[Random_Nerd] Sitting at it is a thin Dionyl man in a color-reversed priest outfit, with a white shirt and slacks and a black clerical collar.

  • tentacleMonsterFtisk stay on T. shoulder but eyeing Dante one

[Brian] (aside to Sam) "Are there any in-depth textbooks on Dionyl biology?"
[Random_Nerd] He's also wearing what looks like a white bonnet that would seem at home on the cast of Little Home on the Prarie, except for all the spiky bits that project inward through where you'd think Jonathan's head must be.

  • DanteE does the same Div-Courage on this guy

[Random_Nerd] Sam: "Short answer, yes, but it may depend what exactly you're looking for."
[Random_Nerd] (He's scared about three things. Making a bad impression, that this isn't what he's looking for, and that the bonnet looks really out of place.)
[Random_Nerd] When you enter the room, he stands up, but bows his head.

  • Kite whispers to Ftisk, "Any data on this guy?"

[Brian] "I would like to get a general overview of Dionyl physiology"
[tentacleMonsterFtisk] (ldiv on this guy)
[Theresa] (One moment. GM away from computer.)
[tentacleMonsterFtisk] "Do you know that she..." (add previous ldiv infos to Kite)
[Kite] (Plunders the room while he's away!)
[Kite] (-s)
[Kite] "Oh!"
[Theresa] (But it's my room too!)

  • tentacleMonsterFtisk whisper the infos to Sam too ^_^

[Random_Nerd] (There's almost no paper records on him. Dionyl don't use the things much. However, you do get a lot of memories. Most of his previous parishioners think of him as "that new guy that left after a few months." Nice guy, a bit awkward, didn't quite seem to fit in.)

  • tentacleMonsterFtisk reply these to kite
  • Kite takes a little bit of pity on the guy and hopes he's not too awkward.

[Random_Nerd] Jonathan stands, his head bowed, waiting for Kite or one of the Aides to say something.

  • Kite nods to Gil.

[Brian] (Brian will buy a few textbooks before leaving Dionyl, which he will do at a convenient time)
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "Stand up, Jonathan."
[Random_Nerd] He straightens his head.
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "Now, I'd like you to tell me why you think that you're right for the Church of Chytosideron."
[Random_Nerd] Jonathan fidgets for a moment, and then stands up straight.
[Theresa] (Oh interview jitters...I know the feeling.)
[DanteE] (and based on my div he's fidgety to begin with)
[Random_Nerd] Jonathan: "Well, let's see. Normally, I do well with my ability to learn theology and ritual, but we don't actually know what yours /are/ yet. But that could be good. I can help you with that. I know lots of rituals and ceremonies. Hmm... I can play the piano and the trumpet fairly well, if you want a musical part to your worship, and I have a fairly solid singing voice."
[Theresa] (Not every day that you get interviewed by a god, his brother and his godly friends.)
[Theresa] (Do you know the ritual with the jaguars and the sun and the blood?)
[Random_Nerd] (Yeah. They wanted to send experienced priests to meet you, because an inexperienced priest /and/ an inexperienced god would /never/ get anything done.)
[tentacleMonsterFtisk] (well I'm here for Dante mostly :-P )
[Brian] "what kind of rituals do you know?"
[Random_Nerd] (But the experienced priests who aren't solidly part of some other religion... well, there's gonna be a reason for it.)
[Random_Nerd] Jonathan fidgets for a moment.
[DanteE] (Are you familiar with the Butcher Dance?)
[Theresa] (Ooo, Dionyl morris dancing!)
[Theresa] (Why did you leave your last job? Have you ever been smited? (Smote?)
[Brian] (smitten)
[Brian] (yes, really)
[DanteE] (do you believe in Godlike?)
[Random_Nerd] Jonathan: "I know the sacrificial rites of Seventeen, Indra, and Hecate. I can scry with intestines, the flight of birds, dried plant stalks, dice, and ferrets. I know two hundred and seventeen assorted religious songs."
[Theresa] (You are full of smit, Brian. ^^ )

  • Theresa is impressed by the ferrets.

[Kite] "Can you scry with jigsaw puzzles?"
[Random_Nerd] Jonathan: "Oh, and I can recite the Call to Order of Gaius Julius Caesar. I heard that you... know him."

  • Theresa also wonders if he knows the Hedgehog song.

[Random_Nerd] Gil, to Kite, whispered: "They don't have those here."
[Random_Nerd] Jonathan: "I don't know. Show me one, and I'll give it a shot."
[Theresa] (Blech, scrying with puzzles. A piece is always missing!)
[Kite] "Oh. Should I have brought one?"
[Brian] "I -think- we can make one"
[DanteE] (Can't you conjure one out of the air?)
[tentacleMonsterFtisk] "You can create one"
[Random_Nerd] Gil gestures at Clarissa. She quickly walks out into the hall.
[DanteE] to Gil: "Have him tell us about Gaius..."
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "Please describe your experiences with the Cult of Gaius."
[Theresa] (Kite could make one, I could make one...)
[Random_Nerd] Jonathan: "That was a short posting, only a month. I did well in the seminary, but I didn't really have the right... martial spirit? That he was looking for. It was just a bad fit."

  • Kite creates a boxed 100-piece jigsaw puzzle under the table. Precautions are out of habit.

[Random_Nerd] Clarissa comes back in: "We can get a puzzle here for you in seven minutes if you need..."
[Random_Nerd] Clarissa: "Ah, very well. I'll tell them to call it off."
[Random_Nerd] (And if you're wondering why the Aides have it, it's in the Things To Distract Nobles With Box. That's a /very/ big box, by the way.)

  • Kite sets the box on the table.

[Random_Nerd] Jonathan: "Hmm."
[Random_Nerd] He opens the box.
[Brian] (that must be a miraculous box)
[Random_Nerd] (What's it a puzzle of?)
[Brian] (a bird with a nest of pins?)
[DanteE] to Gil: "Ask what Gaius was trying to do..."
[Theresa] (Dolly should be in the box...)
[Kite] (Kite as a bird. He's been feeling rather self-important.)
[DanteE] to Theresa: "That 'martial' thing doesn't sound good considering the doubt about who he is..."
[Random_Nerd] Jon: "So, let me see. Divination-wise, I see two main angles. First, there's the shapes, and then, there's the colors on the painted side. Or the... ah, I see, they're bits of images..."
[Random_Nerd] He starts turning all the pieces picture-side up.
[Random_Nerd] J: "No, they're pieces of the /same/ image."
[Random_Nerd] J: "How does that work?"
[Random_Nerd] J: "This... this is what Assembly is, isn't it? This is what you are?"
[Random_Nerd] J: "They tried to explain it, but I couldn't get..."
[Random_Nerd] He looks between the puzzle and Kite.
[Kite] "This is a form it takes. Potentially."

  • Theresa shrugs. "It's entirely possible that he was martial before the Wall. The fact that he's part of the War at all can be part of it. Any Estate can and must be able to defend itself."

[Brian] (one of the best scenes to ever have occurred in this game. Win.)
[Random_Nerd] Jonathan's body language starts to change from "nervous guy at a job interview" to "seventeen-year-old girl hearing the Beatles perform live."
[Kite] (If I recall correctly, he was martial when you guys last met him.)
[Theresa] (I agree! Getting an estate that one does not know across. Good job, dear!)
[DanteE] to T: "Depends on how prominent it is..."
[Brian] (this has to be quoted to rpgnet somewhere)

  • Kite offers some encouragement, "All it needs is your help."

[Random_Nerd] Jonathan manages to get two pieces together. He puts them out on the table, and starts rummaging through the box.
[Theresa] (I meant more being martial when he was a Dionyl as opposed to it being from being a Warmain.)
[DanteE] (We have a quotes page, remember)

  • Kite would smile if he had a face.

[Kite] (which reminds me...)
[tentacleMonsterFtisk] (page that I don't manage so fell free to add to it)
=-= Kite is now known as Dionyl-Kite
[DanteE] to William: "was the 'old' Sakharoth particularly 'martial'?"
[Theresa] (Or quote it to the Nobilis anticipation thread or the Actual Play thread.)
[tentacleMonsterFtisk] (or do both!)
[Random_Nerd] William: "I could not tell you. The old Sakaroth died a long time ago. I don't know precisely how long, Dionyl time can be complicated, but early to mid third age."
[Brian] (this program doesn't quote well, sadly)
[Random_Nerd] William: "But... well, that tells you something. Imperators of Dionyl could kind of take it easy, this isn't one of the big fronts, but he was still in a position to fight a Warmain."
[Random_Nerd] Jonathan gets a few more pieces together, showing Kite's eye and a bit of his beak.
[Theresa] "And in a way that the Warmain was impressed enough to temper him."
[Random_Nerd] William: "So, shot in the dark guess? I'm going with 'probably'."
[DanteE] to W: "I'm just concerned that it may be Suebi expressing himself..."
[Random_Nerd] Jonathan: "I..."
[Random_Nerd] He looks at Gil, as if asking permission to speak.
[Dionyl-Kite] "Yes?"
[Random_Nerd] Gil nods.
[DanteE] (Brian: could always do select/Copy)
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "From what I learned, Caesar /does/ consider himself to be influenced by both Sakaroth /and/ Suebi, who are generally depicted as his parents."
[Brian] (can only copy one line at a time in this one. Which is the annoyance.)
[Random_Nerd] Clarissa: "You guys know how parentage works here... oh, wait, you've /met/ him. Never mind."

  • Theresa smiles. "Yes, he was quite fun to get to know."

[DanteE] "Oh crap, they could actually be his parents..."
[Random_Nerd] Gil, to Theresa: "Did he really come to the party in a human body?"
[Theresa] "Indeed."
[DanteE] "Wait, that would mean either the Triad exists outside the Wall or they 'did it' here."
[tentacleMonsterFtisk] "they fought, the fight can have been in the wall?"
[Random_Nerd] Jonathan: "Well, it's considered to be symbolic, part of a Holy Mystery. After all, Sakaroth and Suebi were never even in contact with each other long enough to have had a child the conventional way."
[Random_Nerd] J: "But then, the Spirit World is a holy mystery."
[DanteE] (Oh yeah, Dionyl can see it, can't they)
[Random_Nerd] (Not unless an Imperator brings them to it.)
[Random_Nerd] (Oh, the "From what I learned" was supposed to be Jonathan, not Gil.)
[Dionyl-Kite] "Ah."
[Random_Nerd] Jonathan has eight pieces of the puzzle assembled by now.
[Dionyl-Kite] "He's doing rather well, if this is his first time."
[DanteE] (Well, 8 pieces in a few minutes starting from scratch isn't too bad...)
[Random_Nerd] Jonathan: "Before today, I never even knew such things existed."
[DanteE] to Kite: "And not doing the 'standard' move of assembling the edge first"
[Random_Nerd] Jonathan looks nervous again, and fumbles in the box.
[Theresa] (Shh, Dante! You'll cause a heresy!)
[DanteE] (We do that anyway. :) )

  • Theresa pffts. "There's no 'right' way to do it, Dante. However you assemble it, that's how it is made."

[tentacleMonsterFtisk] (or looking for faces)
[Brian] (we are heretics in our own religions!)
[Random_Nerd] Jonathan holds a piece of the edge, and then looks between Dante and Theresa, his eyes settling on Kite.
[tentacleMonsterFtisk] "uhm... I usually look for faces"
[DanteE] Yoda impression: "Much fear I sense in this one."
[Theresa] (Hee, Devil Dante and angelic Theresa!  ;P )
[Random_Nerd] Jonathan: "Well, I don't know if I've impressed you, but you've impressed me. If you'll have me, I'll study your ways, and teach them to others."
[Random_Nerd] Clarissa picks up her pen and clipboard, and looks at Kite.
[Dionyl-Kite] "I..."

  • Dionyl-Kite looks to Gil, wondering if a decision would be too hasty.

[DanteE] to Kite: "Let's look at the other applicants."
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "Chytosideron would like to interview some of the other applicants, and think for a time, but would appreciate it if you would wait while he does so."
[Random_Nerd] Clarissa scribbles on her paper.
[Dionyl-Kite] "Please, keep at the puzzle. I would like to see your progress later."
[Random_Nerd] Jonathan: "Thank you, Dominus."
[Random_Nerd] He puts the unassembled pieces back in the box, closes the box, and then carefully tries to slide the completed part from the surface of the table to the top of the box.
[Random_Nerd] Having completed this, he walks briskly out of the meeting room.
[DanteE] (Does the box have a picture of the completed puzzle?)
[Dionyl-Kite] (I imagine so. The other option would be a giant question mark?)
[Random_Nerd] Clarissa: "So, what did you think of the first applicant, sir?"
[Dionyl-Kite] "I'm pleased with how well he did, given the time and his experience."
[DanteE] to Kite: "Nervous, as you saw, but mainly because he wanted to do well in front of you. Strangely enough."
[tentacleMonsterFtisk] "Was fun. "
[DanteE] "If he can get some self-confidence, his experience with other 'religions' might help create rites that Dionyl can relate to."
[Dionyl-Kite] "Agreed, though. He seems ill at ease around us. I hope that does not reflect on how he is in front of a crowd."
[DanteE] "We're a mini pantheon. 'Ill at ease' is a rational reaction."
[Dionyl-Kite] "Hmm... Maybe with a dose of Courage..."
[Random_Nerd] Clarissa: "That may be an issue. While he's one of our most solid applicants in terms of theory and ritual, his people-skills are weak, and he doesn't have much force of worldsight."
[Random_Nerd] Clarissa: "But we feel that if he can find the right Noble or Imperator, then religious fervor will help make up for that."
[tentacleMonsterFtisk] "Yes we can adjust them!"
[Dionyl-Kite] "Well, I'll definitely keep him in mind. How many clergy members were we looking for, Gil?"
[DanteE] "Then again, it's not like your cult would only have one priest."
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "At this point, I'm not sure. A solid core to start with, three or four people. But here, you're as much interviewing /types/ of priest as individuals, as I see it."
[Dionyl-Kite] "Alright. Let's see the next one, then!"
[DanteE] "Want to see #2?"
[tentacleMonsterFtisk] (well, I pictured kite colt as a tiny starting thing at first with only one priest and then growing from that)
[DanteE] (jinx)
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "If you go with him, I doubt you'd want Jonathan, a howling desert prophet, and a fire-and-brimstone preacher."
[DanteE] (2 Johnathans?)
[Dionyl-Kite] "Howling? Desert? Fire and Brimstone?"
[Brian] (afk)
[Random_Nerd] Clarissa: "And on that note, I'll send in Applicant Two, the Spear of Righteousness.
[Random_Nerd] She steps out into the hall for a moment.

  • Dionyl-Kite whispers to the others, "The Spear of Righteousness?"

[Theresa] (Ah, 3 diff types of preacher. Yeah, Jon would get run over by those types.)
[DanteE] to Kite: "Does make sense, though. What do you want to emphasize, and how do you want your followers to be viewed?"
[Theresa] "It might say that on his wallet."
[tentacleMonsterFtisk] "Great name!"
[Dionyl-Kite] "I don't know about a spear..."
[DanteE] "Yeah, that's more my thing. :) "
[Random_Nerd] Clarissa comes back, leading a female dionyl. The new applicant has turned her bonnet inside-out, leaving the spikes all turned outside, like a shiny porcupine. Other than that, she's wearing a necklace made of what looks like pieces of ivory, a loincloth, and some splashes of what could be mud or dark brownish paint.
[Random_Nerd] Also, she's carrying a small axe over one shoulder.
[Random_Nerd] Instead of standing nervously behind the table, she paces.

  • Dionyl-Kite would be frowning.
  • DanteE does the Div-Courage, and checks her out in Mythic...

[Random_Nerd] No mythic to look at her in.

  • tentacleMonsterFtisk ldiv data on her too then whisper result to Kite

[Random_Nerd] Courage-wise, what are you looking for?
[DanteE] same as Johnathan (and the 2 Aides)
=-= YOU are now known as spiderFtisk
[Brian] (b)
[Random_Nerd] She's vaguely worried that you'll ask why she has an axe instead of a spear. But she's less than an eighth as scared as Jonathan was.

  • Dionyl-Kite nods to Gil.

[Random_Nerd] She paces behind the table, waiting for a question.
[Random_Nerd] Gil seems to think for a moment.
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "What was your favorite religious posting previously, and why did you leave it?"
[Random_Nerd] She stops and stares at him. You can't actually see her face, but it's clear from the angles of the bonnet that that's what she's doing.

  • Dionyl-Kite is pleased that she stopped pacing.

[Random_Nerd] Spear of Righteousness: "I was a devotee of the Shard of White Light. I was cast out because I was unable to prevent my worldsight from overriding that of the other followers."
[Random_Nerd] Spear: "Decided to try a more Domination-styled priesthood, see how it worked for me."
[Random_Nerd] Clarissa: "The Spear is our only applicant whose previous experience was more Splinter-oriented."
[spiderFtisk] "interesting!"
[DanteE] quietly, to Clarissa: "What is the Shard of White Light?"

  • Dionyl-Kite sets a new boxed jigsaw puzzle on the table (this one is a picture of Kite and Ftisk frolicking in a field of gear-flowers).

[Random_Nerd] Clarissa: "A Splinter. Master of Sudden Moments of Change, Painful Radiance, and Broken Bones."
[Theresa] (Wow, frolicking.)
[spiderFtisk] (Cool puzzle!)
[Random_Nerd] The Spear: "What would you have me do with this box, Dominus?"
[Brian] "solve it"
[Random_Nerd] She asks as if she's secretly hoping that you want her to beat it until it converts.
[Dionyl-Kite] "Yes, solve it."
[Random_Nerd] She opens it and looks at the pieces, putting the axe to rest on the table beside her.
[Random_Nerd] Is there a picture on the cover of the puzzle?
[Dionyl-Kite] (Sure)
[Random_Nerd] She starts laying out pieces on the table, in a rough semblance of the picture.
[Random_Nerd] Spear: "This piece, here, with a picture of a foot, corresponds to this portion of the picture. This piece, with a brass shell, corresponds to this portion, here." She points.
[Random_Nerd] She continues to set the pieces up in an approximation of the picture, but doesn't connect any of them.
[Theresa] (Hmm, not really Assembly...more...Stacking.)
[Random_Nerd] The Spear turns her head up: "As near as I can tell, this is a representation of the larger picture in the form of a large number of smaller pictures."
[Random_Nerd] Spear: "I believe that each portion of the picture on the box corresponds directly with exactly one of the smaller pictures, no more and no less."
[Dionyl-Kite] "There's more..."
[Random_Nerd] Spear: "Yes, Dominus?"
[Dionyl-Kite] "It would be my wish that you would discover it for yourself."
[Random_Nerd] She looks again.
[DanteE] (What did Ftisk's Div get?)
[spiderFtisk] (he get distracted by all HG stuff :-P )
[Random_Nerd] "It was broken, yes? Or cut apart? Since the picture is of you and your... brother, I believe, this may have been done by an enemy of yours."
[spiderFtisk] he=RN

  • spiderFtisk wave "Yep I'm his brother"

[Dionyl-Kite] "I'm afraid that is not it."
[spiderFtisk] "But was done not by an enemy"
[spiderFtisk] "Hey is like 10 questions game?"
[Random_Nerd] There's almost nothing written about this one. Some notes on Clarissa's clipboard in shorthand. "Splinter past, looking for something more open to worldsight imposition. Projects /very/ strongly. Possible personality mismatch, but the strongest-sighted candidate."
[DanteE] "Think about what you can _do_."
[Random_Nerd] There's also a note at the bottom in a different color of ink. "Employees and other applicants are to spend no more than twenty minutes in direct proximity with the Spear."
[Dionyl-Kite] "You may keep this to contemplate it some more if you like."
[Random_Nerd] Spear: "Glue. Or tape. Or some kind of adhesive. Is there any available? I think, with time, I might be able to fix this."
[DanteE] (You realize your Estate is sort of anti-Splintering, right?)
[Random_Nerd] Spear: "You'd still be able to see the lines, but it would be a lot better."
[DanteE] to Kite: "Getting there..."

  • Theresa hmms over the thought process that sees the project as something to be 'fixed', rather than completed or done.

[Dionyl-Kite] "You're on the right track. I appreciate that."
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "Note that the trait that's making her pick this up more slowly is one that, for many purposes, is desirable in a priest."
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "The first one... he converted to seeing it the same way as you did almost immediately. This one can hold on to her previous ideas even in the sustained presence of several Nobles."
[DanteE] "You mean the strong world-sight?"
[Brian] (whispers to Kite) "I don't think she is quite imaginative enough for Assembly"
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "If you converted her, she would be an effective tool for getting others to see things your way."
[Dionyl-Kite] "But she knows how to wield tape and glue, which is helpful."

  • spiderFtisk counter whisper to Kite "I like the stubbornness once converted can be a valuable priestess"

[Dionyl-Kite] "At least, she claims to."
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "Now, part of this is just anchorite-discipline, but still, she's very strong."
[Random_Nerd] She finds two pieces that match up, puts them together, and then turms them over, so that the other side is facing up.
[Dionyl-Kite] (Brb)
[spiderFtisk] (other side? the one without picture?)
[Random_Nerd] Spear: "I believe the most effective way to repair it would be to assemble it with this side up, and then attach a flat surface to the bottom, with a strong glue spread across it. While it would be easier to... to put together? To... while it would be easier with the pictures up, it would be difficult to turn it for the gluing, and there would be a danger that it would break again."
[DanteE] (It's symbolic. She's got it backwards. :) )
[Random_Nerd] (Yes, the side without the picture.)
[spiderFtisk] (oh, that is a way)
[Random_Nerd] Spear: "Hmm..."
[Dionyl-Kite] "Perhaps a different instance of my Estate would work better for her. Theresa, could I have some reeds and a basket, please?"
[Random_Nerd] She looks at Clarissa, who hands the Spear her pen.

  • Theresa hands some to Kite.

[Random_Nerd] The Spear carefully draws on the box-top picture the outline of the two pieces that she's attached.
[Random_Nerd] Spear: "This way, I can use the picture as an aid to arranging the pieces, while still having it in place for gluing."
[Random_Nerd] She goes through the pieces again, one at a time.
[Random_Nerd] Each piece, she compares the picture to the boxtop, and then turns it and compares the side to the two assembled ones.
[Dionyl-Kite] "Let that project wait for a little bit. Now try this one."

  • Dionyl-Kite sets the reeds before the Spear and keeps the basket for himself.

[Random_Nerd] She puts the piece down.
[Random_Nerd] Spear: "Yes?"
[Dionyl-Kite] "This," he indicates the basket, "Is the picture."
[Random_Nerd] Spear: "This one is different. That... that /had/ been a picture, that was divided."
[Random_Nerd] Spear: "These reeds have never been a basket, it's clear if you look at them..."
[Random_Nerd] Spear: "But they /could/ be."
[Dionyl-Kite] "Yes?"
[Random_Nerd] Spear: "Could I see the basket up close?"

  • Dionyl-Kite allows her to examine the basket.

[Random_Nerd] Spear: "That pattern, that's the key. It" *she pokes the bottom a few times* "holds itself together because of the way the pieces are pushing against each other."
[Random_Nerd] She bends some of the reeds. One breaks.
[Random_Nerd] Spear: "But if you take these ones and bend them like that, they break."
[Random_Nerd] She thinks for a moment.
[Random_Nerd] Spear: "There's a way of changing their properties. Making them more flexible, less brittle."
[Random_Nerd] Spear: "Is that it, what you wanted me to see? That the basket's made out of the reeds, but that you have to do something to them first?"
[Random_Nerd] Gil looks at Kite.
[Dionyl-Kite] "Do what?"
[Random_Nerd] Spear: "Let me think. They aren't metal. If they were metal, it would be heat. You almost always use heat to change the properties of metal, or the right amount of the right impurities."
[Brian] (huh. Metallurgy isn't a Vulcan estate)
[Random_Nerd] She taps the axe. "I made this, by the way. When I was working for the Shard. Metal, I'm good with."
[DanteE] (Is the way to do that even on Dionyl?)
[Random_Nerd] (Well, water would work.)
[Dionyl-Kite] "Hrmm...you do need to do something, but this is not what I want you to see."
[Random_Nerd] (But she doesn't know enough about reeds to know that.)
[Random_Nerd] (And water isn't all that common in Shelter.)
[Dionyl-Kite] "Tough I am pleased that you seem to be able to figure most of the technical details."
[Random_Nerd] (It's something you keep on hand for feeding to animals.)
[Dionyl-Kite] "Please, consider both the picture and the basket."

  • Theresa creates _pliable_ reeds, thank you. *hands over to Kite*

[Dionyl-Kite] "Thanks, Theresa!"

  • Dionyl-Kite offers the pliable reeds to the Spear.

[Random_Nerd] She looks at them closely.
[Random_Nerd] Spear: "These have been infused with something. Something that, when they absorb it, makes them more flexible."
[Random_Nerd] She takes a few of them and tries to fit them together the way they are in the basket.
[Theresa] "It's called water. It's a liquid that most of the living creatures of Earth contain."
[Dionyl-Kite] "Is that where we get it from?"
[Random_Nerd] Spear: "Water! Of course. I've worked with it before. The goats needed water."
[Random_Nerd] She continues to try to fit them together, but is having trouble due to the clumsiness of her fingers.
[DanteE] quietly, to Kite: "We may have enough info."
[Theresa] "Many plants contain some form of water, Kite."
[Random_Nerd] Spear: "Seeing the arrangement is only half of it. Even getting the stalks to the right flexibility isn't enough."
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "Should we bring in the next applicant?"
[Dionyl-Kite] "Yes please, Gil." To the Spear: "Please continue trying to solve this. It may take some time."
[Random_Nerd] Spear, to Kite: "Dominus, I know there's something here I'm not getting. But if you take me on, I will work at it until I get it right. I'm good at /that/, at least."
[Dionyl-Kite] To the Spear: "What have you been told of me?"
[spiderFtisk] (I like her IF Ftisk will start a cult on Dyonil and Kite don't take her he will surely look for her ^_^ )
[Random_Nerd] Spear: "You're from Earth, but you were never a human. You represent something we don't have here, something that's similar in some way to what the difference between Domination cults and Splinter cults is. Your natural form is... a kind of bird that's made of metal. Sharp metal."
[Random_Nerd] Spear: "That was you, on the larger picture. One of the two figures."
=-= YOU are now known as Ftisk
[Dionyl-Kite] "That is right."
[Ftisk] "And me!"
[Random_Nerd] Spear: "They showed me a picture. I..." she turns to Clarissa: "Can you bring it in? I wanted to show it to him."
[Random_Nerd] She nods, and steps out of the room.
[Brian] (probably should be ending soon?)
[Random_Nerd] (Yeah, as soon as this one's done.)
[Dionyl-Kite] (Hehe)
[Random_Nerd] Clarissa returns, holding a brass bird that looks a little bit like Kite.
[Ftisk] (okidoki)
[Theresa] (Aww, how sweet!)
[Random_Nerd] Spear: "I took the picture, and carved that, based on it, in wax. Then I put clay around the wax, and heated it up to harden the clay and melt out the wax. Then I poured brass inside, broke the clay, and cut off the part where the spout had been. It's supposed to be you, based on the picture I saw."

  • DanteE looks over the brass bird...

[Random_Nerd] It doesn't look /that/ much like Kite. The detail of the feathers is wrong, as well as some of the shape of the beak.
[DanteE] (She's not related to the Imp, is she? :) )
[Random_Nerd] Spear: "Either way, even if you don't hire me, I want you to have it."
[Random_Nerd] (I don't even want to think about how that would work.)
[Random_Nerd] She stands up, taking the reeds and the basket with her.
[Random_Nerd] Spear: "Thank you for your time, Dominus."
[Dionyl-Kite] "Thank you as well."

  • Ftisk wave

[Random_Nerd] She walks out.
[Random_Nerd] Clarissa follows her.
[DanteE] once she's gone: "You know what she reminds me of...
[Dionyl-Kite] (Even with the the details, does it look like good artwork?)
[Ftisk] "I like her"
[Random_Nerd] (Hmm. It looks like she's better at craft than she is at art.)
[Dionyl-Kite] "She has potential."
[DanteE] "Those celebrations in, I think Latin America, where they have a guy go around dressed as the Devil...
[Random_Nerd] As soon as she's out of the room, Sam and Gil both collapse in their chairs.
[Random_Nerd] Even William allows himself to look worn out and uneasy.
[Theresa] "Mental pounding, guys?"
[DanteE] "to kind of demonstrate the nature of the adversary. :) "
[Ftisk] "Oh... too much streeeees?"
[Random_Nerd] William: "That felt very strange. Especially at the end, when she was frustrated."
[Dionyl-Kite] (Which is good enough, in Kite's eyes, so long as it's the appropriate craft.)
[DanteE] "to _you_, William?"
[Random_Nerd] Sam: "You're crazy, man. You can stand being on Earth without /sweating/, but /that/ makes you all weak in the knees?"

  • Ftisk are all '?' in eyes

[Random_Nerd] William: "It's nothing like the same at all!"
[Random_Nerd] Sam: "Earth is like that, but /more/!"
[Dionyl-Kite] "She was frustrated?"
[Random_Nerd] (The worldsight thing isn't a /dionyl/ thing, in the sense of the race. It's a Dionyl thing, the world, the way the prosaic world is an Earth thing.)
[Ftisk] "Really she was frustrated?"
[Theresa] "She wasn't getting what you wanted out of her, Kite."
[Random_Nerd] Sam: "She was really frustrated."
[Random_Nerd] Sam: "Which is probably why William and I are yelling at each other now, come to think of it. Sorry, man."
[Random_Nerd] William just shrugs.
[DanteE] "Makes sense, she just wasn't _getting_ what you were... well, what you were."
[Dionyl-Kite] "True, but she was close and it was her first time."
[Theresa] "She thought that she was giving you what you wanted and it wasn't. That can be frustrating to anyone, let alone a job applicant to a _god_."
[DanteE] "Do you want a really theatrical mode of worship? She can be an Adversary. :) "
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "I can see strong reason for picking either of the two. But I would strongly recommend against picking /both/."
[Dionyl-Kite] "I also withheld information, which wasn't exactly fair but it let me see how she works."
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "There's no way he and her could work alongside each other."

  • Ftisk nod nod

[Theresa] "She seemed to be more into what it took to make a project, the details of the making, than the finished project."
[Random_Nerd] (Last lines before we stop?)
[Ftisk] (yepp)
[Dionyl-Kite] "Unless...oh, wait. The cult has to stay together at first, doesn't it?"
[Theresa] "If Ftisk didn't already have Anchors, I'd suggest her for him, but that is just a random thought."
[Random_Nerd] Gil: "At first, yes. We need a solid core to build on."
[DanteE] "Who else is out there?"
[DanteE] to Clarissa
[Ftisk] "Uhm is a nice proposal"
[Dionyl-Kite] "Well, there are more interviewees, yes?"
[Random_Nerd] Clarissa: "Two more. I'll send the next one in."
[Random_Nerd] _____________STOP_____________
[Ftisk] "Would you talk to Gnomely, he can worry I'm becominig straight..."
[Ftisk] ops
[Dionyl-Kite] Kite will assure Ftisk that nobody knows what "straight" is with him.
=-= Brian is now known as lazarus
=-= Theresa is now known as BethE
=-= Dionyl-Kite is now known as Verithe
=-= YOU are now known as Angelo
[Angelo] tnx to Kite from Ftisk :-)
[lazarus] I prefer the first guy.
[Angelo] I the second
[DanteE] Got it. Johnathan plays a new acolyte, slowly understanding Assembly in his struggles with the forces played by Spear while a head priest spins it all into a parable. :)
[BethE] I do too but then again, I'm a sucker for a sincere guy.
=-= DanteE is now known as Knockwood
[Random_Nerd] They're both sincere, just in different ways.
[lazarus] The first seemed more clever.
[Angelo] but more changeable
[lazarus] And Brian is now thinking of making an Amyra cult here.
[Random_Nerd] True, you'd look for some very different things for a cult there, as opposed to one on Dionyl.
[Random_Nerd] Verithe, what do you think of the two?
[Verithe] Kite likes them both, but the Spear seems to have the makings of a craftsperson, which is something that he definitely appreciates.
[lazarus] Nono, a cult of Amyra on Dionyl.
[Verithe] I, myself, also like them both.
[Verithe] Kite also likes the Spear better when she isn't pacing and carrying an axe.
[Knockwood] yeah, but Spear's basic nature is almost the opposite of Assembly
[BethE] For her, for the puzzle, the picture wasn't important. It was getting the pieces together in as efficient way as possible.
[Knockwood] she was focused on the hypothetical disassembler.
[Verithe] Well, she noted that the picture wouldn't be perfectly salvageable. She was also looking for an answer no Dionyl had ever experienced before.
[Verithe] At least to our knowledge.
[Random_Nerd] Yeah. In general, when you make things on Dionyl, they're either grown, like plants, carved like stone, or made with molds, like the little statue of Kite.
[Random_Nerd] Not put together from a bunch of smaller pieces.
[Random_Nerd] To someone raised that way, the idea just seems absurd, like the thought of going through a butcher shop and putting together a cow.
[Knockwood] if there's no Assembly on Dionyl, then how'd she put together her axe? :)
[Random_Nerd] It's one piece.
[Angelo] all iron
[Random_Nerd] The handle and the head are all metal.
[Knockwood] ah.
[lazarus] I repeat my astonishment at metallurgy being a concept not related to vulcan
[Knockwood] so, who gets destiny –REDACTED-?
[Random_Nerd] Kite, certainly.
[Random_Nerd] The cult thing's a Project, right?
[Verithe] I imagine that some similar things to Assembly might exist as separate Estates as well.
[Verithe] Yesssss!
[Angelo] well when I created Vulcan metallurgy don't came to my mind
[Angelo] ugh.... brain?
[Random_Nerd] So, based on what you know right now, do you think you'll want to pick one of the two you've met, even if you don't know which one?
[Random_Nerd] And, bear in mind, in-character the Nobilis Vulcan is a guy who existed before the Romans, but that the mythological Vulcan was somewhat loosely based on.
[Verithe] Based on what I know right now, yes.
[Knockwood] Well, we should see the other two.
[Random_Nerd] Barakiel's not that much like the mythological one, either.
[Random_Nerd] If you think that you've probably got someone to go with as long as you don't change your mind later, record this as a Victory.
[Random_Nerd] 3 –REDACTED-, and all of you get 1 MP.
[Verithe] Someone should write some Kudzu myths for us to compare and contrast. :P
[Angelo] alll?
[Random_Nerd] You all contributed, yeah.
[Angelo] fun!
[Random_Nerd] So while the –REDACTED-is for the Project, everyone gets MPs.
[lazarus] Nice.
[Knockwood] hm, I don't think I have anything that could relate to...
[Verithe] :D
[Random_Nerd] Is there anything Dante's done offscreen to work on his projects?
[Knockwood] hm. An ongoing request of the Aides to let me know of any other Wildlords acting weirder than usual on Breach Day?
[BethE] Well, guys, I'm beat. *HUGS* Good game and Merry Christmas!
[Angelo] Merry Xmax Beth!!!
[Knockwood] Merry Christmas to you too
[Random_Nerd] Hmm. That's not something new that Dante's done, so I don't think that counts as a –REDACTED- or –REDACTED-.
[Random_Nerd] Although, that reminds me.
[Verithe] Take care, Beth! Have a nice Christmas!
[Random_Nerd] Do any of you have any personal issues that your PCs are dealing with?
|[-- BethE has left irc2.magicstar.net (Disintegrated: All shall love me and despair?)
[Random_Nerd] Stuff about how they see themselves, how they fit into the world, that kind o thing?
[Random_Nerd] Of thing?
[Angelo] Yep
[Random_Nerd] Oh? Elaborate, please.
[Knockwood] I do, and it's already part of my mindmap
[Random_Nerd] *nod*
[lazarus] Not for Brian. He wants to learn more about stuff, and possibly open a University or few on Dionyl.
[Angelo] Ftisk is afraid of the Conrad side after the exposure to the out of the wall chancel
[Knockwood] Oh!
[Angelo] and the effect it bring overcoming it's personality
[Random_Nerd] Okay. That /definitely/ qualifies as a Struggle.
[Knockwood] Watching the birth of a Noble cult could help us deal with the existing corrupt cult back on Earth. :)
[Angelo] (he se no problem with Conrad as passenger in his mind but that he rob the steering wheel is a different matter)
[Random_Nerd] Hmm! You haven't done anything yet to work that in, but there's definitely potential there.
[Verithe] I think, with everyone else having a "past self" on the other side of the Wall, Kite has come to realize that he can't remember life before being enNobled and it will start troubling him a little.
[Angelo] also is not on the map
[Random_Nerd] Okay. Both of you, please look at the rules for Struggle and for personal destiny.
[Knockwood] (me or Ftisk, RN?)
[Angelo] both!
[Random_Nerd] (You.)
[Knockwood] Well, I forgot I had a 'Deal with corrupt cult' branch. :)
[Random_Nerd] Oh, and I put the stuff with Jonathan and the puzzle on the quotes page.
[Random_Nerd] See you guys next week.
[Angelo] good move
[Angelo] ok, Merry Christmas RN
[Verithe] Take care!
[Knockwood] Merry Christmas to all... :D
[lazarus] Might not be here next week ... Family plans and such. I'll send a message along yay or nay.
|[-- Random_Nerd has left irc2.magicstar.net (Disintegrated: )
[Verithe] Merry Christmas.
[Verithe] Alright.
[Angelo] well breakfast time.... with meat and broccoli and then nap!
[Angelo] (fried broccoli)
|[-- lazarus has left irc2.magicstar.net (Disintegrated: lazarus)
[Knockwood] sounds ... interesting.
[Knockwood] actually, sounds almost like a stir-fry
[Angelo] are remainings from yesterday bbq
[Angelo] btw (chomp chomp in background)
[Angelo] stir-fry?
[Knockwood] oriental thing. Meat and vegetables and a bit of oil in a wok, heated, stirred continually.
[Knockwood] or something like a teppanyaki, that Verithe would know about. :)
[Angelo] ah, understudy but no yesterday we bbq some pork meat and in the kitchen we fried some broccoli now I'm eating what remain
[Verithe] Something like that, yeah. :)
[Knockwood] heh... Verithe and I have both had something like a Mongolian Barbeque, and we've probably all had pasta.
[Angelo] you meet together?
[Angelo] in Nevada or in Japan?
[Verithe] No, we haven't. But we've both had the food.
[Angelo] ahhh
[Knockwood] no, just commenting on the universality of certain dishes
[Angelo] sorry brain is lost maybe cat stole it
[Verithe] That's what happens during the Christmas vacation. Brains turn to sugarplums and cats steal them.
[Angelo] eh... true
[Knockwood] well, if you go overboard on the spices and rich food regularly maybe it tastes better than the usual cat food...
[Angelo] my cat eat better that me
[Angelo] my wife pretend all natural things
[Knockwood] ack
[Angelo] like real fishes or like that
[Angelo] also she (the cat) does no effort to catch mouses or eat our dishes
[Angelo] well, Merry Christmas boys
[Angelo] I head out
[Knockwood] You need a machine that automatically flings marinara sauce on mice, then the cat will go after em. :)
[Verithe] Take care, Angelo!
[Knockwood] merry christmas, Angelo
[Angelo] bye!!!
