Chancel_Amyra
Chapter 9

Theresa: So, let's see...we had found out something Important about the Maple and Snow has a bed buddy and Dante was examining the blood droplet?
Snow: *nods*
DanteE: right, William was saying it might be from a member of the royal line that was lost at sea in the 1870s...
Snow: He also has a fiancee! Wtf!
Theresa: Oh, reminds me, need to make Will an offer.
Random_Nerd: I still don't get why you find William having an SO to be so baffling.
Theresa: Because he's so straightlaced, we don't think he'd have sex?
Snow: And he was a Potential Romantic Interest!
DanteE: ...because his job requires him to be not only away but on alternate plains of existence for months at a time for reasons he can't explain?
Snow: (note how the acronym rhymes with "pry
Snow: ")
Random_Nerd: Eh, why can't he explain it?
Snow: And why do we need to make him an offer?
Theresa: She must be very special to believe him.
Theresa: Theresa needs to make an offer to do the wedding flowers, duh.  :)
Snow: Heh.
Snow: Snow will make their wedding night...memorable.
Theresa: *blink* With _which_ of your talents, dear?
Snow: Capriciousness?
Theresa: Oh, okay. I was having trouble with the Swallow Anything...
DanteE: poking her ice-cold nose in at _just_ the right time? :D
Snow: HAH!
Random_Nerd: ...
Snow: SO!
Snow: On that note.
DanteE: (Yeah, those lines would SO be stolen for the Topic in #rpgnet)
Theresa: Ready!
DanteE: ready...
Snow: Ready!
Theresa: (*imagines what a Noble decoration of a wedding would be like*)
Random_Nerd: _________START___________
Theresa: "William...if it wouldn't be against your contract or you and your fiancee's wishes, I could create the flowers for your wedding..."
Random_Nerd: (So, when we last left Our Intrepid Heroes, they'd investigated the blood drop further, found out more about the Maple, and talked to William.)
DanteE: (How long has William been here?)
Random_Nerd: (Here as in where?)
Random_Nerd: (Amyra?)
DanteE: (Yeah, under contract)
Random_Nerd: (About two weeks by this point, I believe.)
Random_Nerd: W: "We, ah, haven't made specific plans yet. But thank you."

  • Theresa smiles. "Sure."

DanteE: "By the way, did anything of note happen while we were recovering?"
Snow: (I think I'm a mouse on William's shoulder...)
Theresa: (I think you are too....)

  • Snow goes to William's earlobe and explores it with her tiny paws.

Random_Nerd: "Hmm. What would you consider notable?"
Random_Nerd: William twitches at Snow's pawing.
DanteE: "Oh, revolution formenting, monsters rampaging, world ending... you know, the usual. :)"
DanteE: "By the way, I've been meaning to take little squirt there to the zoo."
Random_Nerd: "None yet that I'm aware of. The Domina of Hope has not yet returned, Ymera Kudzu hasn't done anything odd..."
Theresa: "We would have noticed the world ending, Dante."

  • Theresa raises an eyebrow in disbelief about the last part.

DanteE: "Yeah, that last part is a little unusual right there. It should be raining cheese periodically."
Snow: "Are we supposed to do anything?"
Random_Nerd: "True. The world isn't due to end for close to a year."
Theresa: "Pretty much just live our lives, I think, Snow. Take care of our Estates and the Chancels. That's pretty much it."
Theresa: "Only a year? Huh."
Random_Nerd: "Yes. For the celestial millenium."
Random_Nerd: "Specifically, the third age of the world will be ending."
Theresa: "The world comes back, right?"
Random_Nerd: "Has each time so far."
Random_Nerd: "First time, the various Falls happened."
Random_Nerd: "Second time, the Excrucians came."

  • Snow looks mousily thoughtful.

Random_Nerd: "I imagine something like that will be happening soon."
Snow: "Think third time, Third Woman will land on the turtle?"
Theresa: "I hadn't realized that the Falls and the world ending happened at the same time."
Random_Nerd: "Well, that's what we call it. It's an immense change, at the very least."
Theresa: "And that's when the Dionyl fell and the humans fell...such changes."
Random_Nerd: "Yes. Also, the big Angelic fall."
Random_Nerd: "And so on."
DanteE: "Do they always plan _something_ for the millenium?
Theresa: (It's in Dick Clark's contract.  :) )
DanteE: "You'd think Nobles would be sitting in bunkers.
Random_Nerd: "These things aren't planned. They just... happen."
DanteE: (and we should tell Carrie she's got a deadline)
Theresa: (Good point!)
Snow: "Better start making human puppies, William."
Theresa: *thinks*
Random_Nerd: "As for the bunkers... well, there's a war on. Maybe it'll get worse due to people being afraid."
Random_Nerd: "Making... human... puppies? That sounds more like the sort of thing a Wildlord would do."
Theresa: (That _is_ what Kudzu did to Snow...)
Snow: "Baaaaa-biiiies."
Random_Nerd: "Ah. Well, we've decided not to start on that yet."
Random_Nerd: (Someone who works with the Nobilis is prone to interpret metaphors as literal. They usually are.)
Theresa: "The first Fall involved Angels and Serpents, with humans and Dionyl as more minor. The second millenium brought Excrucians and Wildlords...what will be this one..."
Random_Nerd: "Something having to do with Murder and the Infinite, I imagine."
Theresa: "Because of...who will be in charge?"
DanteE: "Waaaait a minute...
Random_Nerd: "Yes. That's the current theory, at least. Of course, my organization isn't nearly old enough to have seen another age of the world."
Random_Nerd: "Yes, sir?
Random_Nerd: "
DanteE: "This one already happened."
Random_Nerd: "Beg pardon, sir?"
DanteE: "It was re-wound 500 years, but it already happened."
Theresa: (Lost 500.)
Random_Nerd: "No, those were just years of Earth time."
Random_Nerd: "This is a lot bigger than just Earth."
Theresa: "Is it like personal Chancel time?"
DanteE: (<Barbie voice>"Nobility is _confusing!_</Barbie>)
Random_Nerd: "How so, Domina?"
Random_Nerd: "As I understand it, these things work in terms of Celestial time. Of how time runs in the place in Heaven where it was first invented."
Theresa: "Well...time in a Chancel doesn't always work the same as out in the *air quotes* real world. It be move slower in here or go faster depending on the Imperator, right?"
Random_Nerd: "I don't fully understand it."
Theresa: "Oh, I see."
Snow: "So when's our world gonna get eaten?"
Random_Nerd: "I believe in six to eight months of Earth time, assuming that the ratio remains fairly constant."
Random_Nerd: "My associate might be better informed on this, he's less Earth-specialized than I am."
Theresa: "This would be the first world-end with the Excrucians firmly in place, isn't it?"
Random_Nerd: "Correct, Domina. They first appeared at the end of the last world."
Random_Nerd: "Or, rather, in the year before, in the chaos that sparked the change."
Random_Nerd: "Of course, the Wildlords appeared before, as have other things from Outside."
Random_Nerd: "And there are rumors that the Excrucians were bribed into attacking later, with the offering of what became Colbrand."
Theresa: "So we could possibly be motivators to affect change and create the new world?"
Theresa: "What's Colbrand?"
Random_Nerd: "One of the seven great Abhorrent Weapons. Also called monsterousness."
Random_Nerd: "Previously, it is said to have been the quality of spirit which makes death impossible, whatever that means. Presumably a lost estate."
Theresa: "What does it look like?
Theresa: "
Random_Nerd: (Err, "monsterous", not "monsterousness.")
Snow: (Capriciousness!)
Snow: (*grin*)
Random_Nerd: "As I understand, its shape is mutable, but is something like..."
Random_Nerd: He thinks for a moment.
Random_Nerd: " 'A precisely angled construct of time and meaning.' "
DanteE: "... how many of those Abhorrent Weapons ... are Blades?"
Random_Nerd: "But we've only had a few reports. Powers that come into conflict with the great seven tend not to survive."
Theresa: "Ouch. How are they made?"
Random_Nerd: "I believe... at least one is always a blade, and others sometimes are."
Random_Nerd: "We don't know, Domina."
Random_Nerd: "That is a secret our enemies have kept."

  • DanteE strokes the scar by his eye...

Random_Nerd: "Colbrand is the only one we have any idea of the source material, which appears to have been an Estate, the first one Excruciated."
Random_Nerd: "And it is, interestingly, an estate that matches with the function of an Abhorrent Weapon."
DanteE: "Was there a Power of Blades before me?"
Random_Nerd: "I do not know. We have no records of one."

  • Theresa gives a little gasp, at the thought of the very first Estate gone. Forever. And the panic that must have caused.

Random_Nerd: "Much of Ymera Kudzu's past is mysterious, though. We know less about him than most Imperators."
Random_Nerd: "Not unusual for a Wildlord, of course."

  • Snow doesn't look so concerned.

Random_Nerd: "There... may have once been a /shard/ of Blades, of course. Before he came to Creation."
Theresa: (So the estate is the "precisely angled construct of time and meaning" ?)
Random_Nerd: (The estate was "The quality of spirit which makes death impossible.")
Random_Nerd: "One of the major schools of thought involving the Magisters of the Wild says that, before they came through the Wall, their spiritual structure corresponded more to that of our enemies. Of course, we have no proof either way, but it is consistent with the other things that have been evoked with High Summonings."

  • Snow turns into a ferret, and winds around William's shoulders.

Random_Nerd: William idly pets the ferret.
Theresa: (Sorry to poke at something, but basically with this estate being Excruciated, it created the Estate of Death?)
Random_Nerd: (Hmm... not exactly.)
Theresa: "What about Mimics, William?"
Snow: (I was thinking the same thing, Beth.)
Random_Nerd: (Rather, I think it produced the possibility that death could occur at haphazard times.)
Random_Nerd: (Rather than in an innately meaningful way, when the person is ready for it.)
DanteE: (I read that as making it possible to kill a _soul_)
Random_Nerd: "Mimics. As I understand it, they're in structure identical to our own Imperators."
Random_Nerd: "So, they would form Nobles, rather than Shards."
Random_Nerd: (Hmm. That's a possible interpetation too.)
Theresa: (Just kind of thinking that if an estate gets Ex-ed, whether it just gets reborn in a different way with a different name...weaker, but still there.)
Theresa: "So...the only difference is their allegiance? Have Mimics ever decided to side with Creation?"
DanteE: (Hm... you could argue that the'd be a 'ring' around the penumbra of whatever was removed that suddenly gets more definition...)
Random_Nerd: "I believe that if a Mimic were to side with Creation, we would call it an Imperator."
Random_Nerd: "That's all a Mimic is, really. An Imperator that the Other Side has turned."
DanteE: "And it would be an Imperator-level manifestation of teh Dark."
Random_Nerd: "The Dark? Hor so?"
Random_Nerd: (Err, how.)
Theresa: "So...we don't really know who a Mimic is...or even an Imperator really is...until they publicly pick a side?"
Random_Nerd: "The only real way to know a Mimic is if you find them working against Creation."
Random_Nerd: "As I understand it, they have some process that a group of Excrucians can perform on an incapacitated Imperator to convert them. Related, I believe, to the more elaborate way they can turn an Imperator into a full Excrucian."
DanteE: "Well, assuming he's still interested in eliminating estates... one allied with 'our side' might try eliminating 'bad' estates
DanteE: "Imagine Excruciating, say, Phyrric Victories."
Random_Nerd: "Hmm. I suppose that's possible. It would still be treason, of course, but it would make sense if some of the original personality lingers."
Random_Nerd: "Still, although doing so might make life more pleasant for some, it would also undermine the foundations of the world."
Theresa: "What if they weren't converted by that ritual? What if an Imperator just _chooses_ to work against Creation?"
Random_Nerd: "Then, I suppose they wouldn't technically be a mimic, merely a traitor. But the difference would be academic."
Random_Nerd: "Each Estate, each Noble and Imperator, is a pillar of the world. A brick in the wall of Heaven. Even the 'bad' ones support existence."
Theresa: "What's the punishment for treason?"
DanteE: (All in all, we're just another brick in the wall?  :)
Random_Nerd: "Death, of course, by means of the choosing of the Locust Court."
Theresa: (We don't need no...Excruciation...)
Random_Nerd: "And although I am no supporter of the Lord with the Bloody Hands, in this, I agree with his policy."
Theresa: "Have there been many..any? who have been convicted of this?"
Random_Nerd: "Even the First of Four is a supporter of Creation. Anyone who turns against it is worse than Him."
Random_Nerd: "Perhaps a dozen, if Mimics aren't counted."
Theresa: "What happened to their Estates or their Nobles?"
DanteE: "But anyway... who was this guy from 1870 you mentioned?"
Random_Nerd: "They're ended. That's why it's so deadly when a traitor-Imperator is executed. It's almost like an Excruciation done by us."
Random_Nerd: "Sometimes we can salvage some of their estates by the Rite of Rescue, if the Nobles aren't tainted as well.."
Random_Nerd: "Guy from 1870? Oh, the king's ancestor?"
DanteE: "Yeah, this guy. (shows blood drop)"
Random_Nerd: "A previous King John. Or Johann, I believe, but the difference is academic. He was lost at sea, but fortunately his son was old enough to take over the duties."
DanteE: "...how old was he?
Random_Nerd: "The son?"
DanteE: "Yes...
Random_Nerd: William thinks for a moment, and then touches his ear.
Random_Nerd: "One moment please."
Random_Nerd: (rather, touching the silver ball.)
Random_Nerd: "Ah. Fourteen, it seems."
Snow: (Could Snow hear anything when he did that?)
Random_Nerd: (No. It didn't produce any sound.)
DanteE: "Hm. I wonder if some of the information about the artifacts and their rituals wasn't passed on properly.'
Random_Nerd: "I don't know. I don't believe so, but then, if it were the case they'd hide it."

  • Snow snuffles at the silver ball.

Random_Nerd: "Still, most of the things are written down, and the few deep secrets are orally transmitted from father to son for those of the blood of kings."
Random_Nerd: "Please don't touch that, Domina."

  • Snow hesitates. "What is it?"

Random_Nerd: "It is... let's call it the physical representation and substance of my commitment to my organization and their goals."
Snow: "Why shouldn't I touch it? Why do you touch it?"
DanteE: (Would it be rational to assume that this blood-drop-gift itself is important, or am I 'attacking a gazebo', as it were?"
DanteE: )(
DanteE: )
DanteE: (<- still kant tipe)
Random_Nerd: (It's at least a representation of something important.)
Random_Nerd: (You're not barking up the wrong tree. It's meaningful, and you've discovered a fair amount of the meaning.)
Random_Nerd: "It serves a few functions, for those who're attuned to it. It's... I believe you would call it an oracle?"
Theresa: (Why would William have an eye in his...oh, sorry.  :) )
DanteE: "We've been assuming it's a radio. :)"
Theresa: "Maybe your Message, Dante, wasn't meant for you specifically?"

  • Snow eyes it, looking at her own reflection.

Random_Nerd: "It's a little more complicated than that. It connects me to things that others like myself have contributed, through the oath of our order."
Snow: "I don't like it. Sounds too much like a leash."

  • Snow says this rather passively, however. Not like she's going to rip it out.
  • DanteE picks up Snow and transfers her to his shoulder.

Random_Nerd: "If it is, it's a leash I've chosen to put on myself."
Random_Nerd: "The freedom to make choices includes the freedom to commit oneself to a cause."

  • Snow whines as she is moved, but allows it anyway.

Snow: "I wasn't gonna DO anything..."
DanteE: "Riiiiight.
Snow: "I like William!"
DanteE: "Besides... I should introduce you to someone important."
Theresa: "Maybe Snow would like to go to the zoo, Dante? I'm sure there are creatures there she's never seen before. I'm sure that some of our more historical animal bloodlines at the zoo probably don't exist outside of the Chancel anymore..."
Snow: (I'm assuming that Snow can transform into animals that are mythical to you and me, but not mythical in Amyra?)
DanteE: "After we talk to His Highness. William... would you call the Palace and let them know we're coming?"
Random_Nerd: "Certainly. Would you like me to preceed you in person, to announce you?"
DanteE: "No need, he king and I have met.

  • Snow curls up on Dante's shoulders.

DanteE: "Then again... have you had a chance to take the Treasures Tour?"
Random_Nerd: "Very well. I will call him and tell him to prepare for your arrival. I take it you would like your reception to be informal?"
DanteE: "Yes.
Snow: (Heh. Snow formal would be interesting.)
DanteE: (She can turn into a penguin and pretend it's a tux. :)
Random_Nerd: "Very welll, sir."
Snow: (She doesn't know what a penguin is...yet!)

  • Theresa shrugs a little, transforming her dress into something a bit more king-visiting-ish.
  • Snow glances at Theresa.

Random_Nerd: "Oh, one other thing, sir. You seemed interested in the greater Abhorrent Weapons?"
Snow: "Should I be human?"
DanteE: "Yes..."
Random_Nerd: "There is a history of them, which is the basis of my knowledge of them. It was written by the founder of my Order. Would you like me to have a copy sent to you?"
DanteE: "... yes I would.

  • Snow slips down Dante's clothing, and pops up again as a human. She smiles cheerfully at William.

Random_Nerd: "I will make such arrangements."
Theresa: "I would like a copy, if there is one available, William. Do you have any treatses on Excrucians or Mimics in particular?"
Random_Nerd: "I believe there is a history of the Great War, which would address them to some degree."
Random_Nerd: "Also written by the hand of Mister Ginneis. Do you wish a copy?"
Theresa: "Please."
Random_Nerd: "I will also arrange this."
Theresa: "Thank you very much, William. I find that my knowledge of our enemies is...lacking."

  • Snow spins in her cotton dress, because she feels like it.

Random_Nerd: "Bear in mind, these books contain relatively sparse information, which may not be entirely correct. Their author is a great man, who I myself respect very much, but still, he writes on issues that are clouded even to the Nobility."

  • Theresa nods slowly. "Still...a signpost on a barren field is better than heading in no direction at all."

DanteE: (OK... now, for what I'm thinking of... GD+LC, which Snow could do for 2 RMPs?)
Snow: (What am I doing?)
Snow: (LCs are free for me. Not sure about GDs.)
Snow: (Oh wait, not Domain. Nvm.)
Random_Nerd: (Greater Divinations are Realm 5.)
Random_Nerd: (Or Domain 5.)
DanteE: (Guess. :)
Snow: (a Greater Divination? Broader than finding where John is...)
Snow: (And asking Snow what kind of LC is appropriate at the time is like asking the weather to be sunny, please.)
DanteE: (GD finds the mind while LC creates the body.)
Snow: (Making John be there?)
DanteE: (Making John, from the drop. Think clone.)
Theresa: (Won't that mess up the line of the throne?)
Snow: (I don't think that would occur to Snow. She's of a more naturalistic mindset--conceptually, it wouldn't make sense to her.)
Theresa: (Then again...we haven't tried talking to the spirit of the drop either.)
DanteE: (No, his claim ends on death. He already did that. :)

  • DanteE checks out the drop's spirit...

Random_Nerd: (The drop, mythically, looks like a reddish beetle, a little like a translucent ladybug, curled up in its shell.)
DanteE: "William... what does it mean when a spirit resembles a beetle?"
Snow: "Does it look like a beetle?"
Random_Nerd: "A beetle? I don't understand the Mythic world, sir. I have never seen it."
Snow: "Maaaaaybe it's a beeeeetle."
Random_Nerd: "...please don't show it to me, sir. If you need someone to consult with, I believe my associate is better at tolerating perceptual shifts."
DanteE: "All right..."
DanteE: "Shall we head for the castle?"
Theresa: "So, go bothering Sam or bothering a king?"

  • Snow bounces.

DanteE: to Snow: "We'll hit the zoo after. :)"
Snow: "Okay!"
Random_Nerd: "Well, Samuel could go with you to see King John, I believe."
Snow: (I forget, Snow can contact Samuel via the RH?)
Random_Nerd: (She can. Or, rather, contact the message board through it, and have it contact him.)
Random_Nerd: (Alternatively, he's probably down the hall.)

  • Snow sniffs out Samuel.

Random_Nerd: (He's down the hall!)
Random_Nerd: (In his office.)
Snow: (Heh!)

  • Snow runs down the hall and bursts into Samuel's office.

Snow: "Samuel!"
Random_Nerd: He pokes his head-type-area-vortex out the door of his office.
Random_Nerd: "Hey, Snow."
Snow: (She interrupts him having wild Dionyl sex! Awkwardness ensues!)
Snow: "Hi! Wanna go see the king?"
Random_Nerd: (Well, they don't really have sex in the conventional sense. Or at least, that's not how they reproduce as such.)
Theresa: (How could we tell? They'd be naked...and see-through!)
Snow: (Hah!)
Theresa: (Oh, yeah, they reproduce through the Triad method.)
Random_Nerd: (They do do a thing where they interpose their vortices and... so on.)
DanteE: "William, have I mentioned how much I appreciate your diplomatic skills?"
Random_Nerd: "It's my job, sir."
Theresa: (*laugh*)
Snow: (He's so cute!)
Random_Nerd: "The king? Sure, Snow."
Random_Nerd: You hear him putting a book back on the shelf, and he streams out into the hall.

  • Snow follows.

DanteE: "You'd better get on the phone."
Random_Nerd: (That to William or Samuel?)
DanteE: (William, to call the palace & tell him we're coming)

  • Snow tugs on Theresa's sleeve in a, "Moooom, let's goooo!" way.

Random_Nerd: "I was going to call when you left, in case you had any other questions, sir."

  • Theresa smiles at Snow. "Do you want to run or ride there?"

Snow: "Can I ride on you? You're fast."
Random_Nerd: S, to Snow: "So, off to see the king?"

  • Snow nods eagerly at Snow.

DanteE: (that sounds painful. :)
Random_Nerd: (Have you been bilocating again?)
Snow: (Sam. Sorry. Tired.)
Snow: (^^;)
Theresa: (I was going to say...Theresa isn't _that_ fast...)
Random_Nerd: (And she wanted to ride Samuel?)
Snow: (No, Theresa.)
Random_Nerd: (Okay.)
Theresa: (Ah...okay.)

  • Theresa blinks at Snow. (How big is Snow as a human again?)

DanteE: (Oh, wait... did we ever take care of that horse?)
Snow: (The size of a scrawny 18 year old girl.)
Random_Nerd: (Put it in Monty's old room, right?)
Snow: (IIRC, we set him up grazing near the Maple.)
Random_Nerd: (Ah, that's right. You went to Monty's old room, but didn't move him there yet.)
DanteE: (Did we actually set him up, or just talk about it?)
Theresa: (Talk, I think.)
Snow: (Yeah.)
Random_Nerd: (And fixed the hole.)

  • Theresa will nod slowly at Snow. "I'll carry you if you change into something a bit easier to carry, Snow. Have to be careful with these old bones, remember?" *smile*
  • Snow smiles and nods. She flicks into the form of a sparrow, and flits to Theresa's shoulder.

DanteE: (Y'know, I'd feel a lot better about being responsible for fundamental building blocks of reality if we weren't so easily distracted. Or am I worrying too much?  :P )
Theresa: (Maybe a bit.  :) Snow's more easily distracted.)
Random_Nerd: (Eh. You still beat Kudzu for attention span.)
Random_Nerd: (And he /is/ a fundamental building block of reality.)
Snow: (Hey, just because Snow's got the attention span of a retarded gnat doesn't mean that you can't still do your thang. :) )

  • Theresa calls back to William. "If the copies of the books arrive before I see you again, William, can you have them sent to either the Conservatory or my desk here at the tower?"

Random_Nerd: W: "I'll do that, Domina."
DanteE: (Isn't William coming with us?)
Theresa: "Thank you."
Theresa: (No, we were going to drag Sam with us. So he can look at the beetle and not get broken.)
Random_Nerd: (Because, being from Dionyl, he's more used to perceptual weirdness.)
Theresa: "Do you want to drive Sam, Dante? It should give you a chance to talk about the beetle."
DanteE: "OK."
Snow: (I'm totally fried tonight, guys. You want to start the next game as we meet with John?)
DanteE: (We're nearing the end of the session, aren't we?)
DanteE: (Jinx!)
Random_Nerd: (Stopping now works for me.)
Random_Nerd: (And it seems like a good place.)
Theresa: (Stopping now is fine with me.)
DanteE: (Well, wait... can we take care of the horse of mass destruction first?)
Snow: (Can Snow make the horse be in the room? Just...make it so?)
Random_Nerd: (Hmm... yes. For a Lesser Creation of Realm.)
Snow: (And aren't you all glad I brought it home?!)
Snow: (Bam! Horse in room. Hole blocked by glacier. Happy horse. Happy Amyra.)
Theresa: (Yes, until the first important person is 'ded from hors'.)
Snow: (*snork*)
Theresa: (It will probably learn to look innocent from Snow...)
Snow: (Oh, heck yeah. She can even teach it in Horse.)
Theresa: ("No no no...again! With _feeling_!)
Snow: (*eats horse's head*)
Random_Nerd: (For that matter, it's an Anchor. She can pop into its head and say "Yo. Horse. Get over here.)
DanteE: (Hm.;.. wouldn't that mean she can change it to another animal?)
Snow: (Yeah, but the entrance is already blocked.)
Random_Nerd: (She could, while she was inhabiting it.)
DanteE: (OK, if she changes it to another animal and then leaves, what happens?)
Snow: (Snow wouldn't be inclined to make a horse into something else. Not natural. She sees herself as a coyote/tricker/god so it's okay for /her/.)
Theresa: (A very confused Horse.)
Random_Nerd: (Hmm... I think it turns back to a horse, as its anchor immunity returns?)
Random_Nerd: (Because while she's inhabiting it, the horse is "her body" for the purposes of miracles, but afterward it's an anchor.)
Snow: (Sorry guys, I'm dying here. Mind if I bail?)
Random_Nerd: (Works for me.)
DanteE: (I think we're ending the session anyway)
Theresa: (Nah, I'm good. Sleep well, Sara. *HUG* Lots of sleep.)
Snow: (*HUG!* Later guys! Fun game, as usual!)
Random_Nerd: _______________STOP_________________
Random_Nerd: (Later, Sara.)

      • Snow has left #nobilis.
      • DanteE is now known as Knockwood.

Knockwood: Damn, we talk a lot. :)
Random_Nerd: Eh, that works. Besides, you just went through a "head-swallowing" story.

      • You are now known as BethE.

Knockwood: that power of hers is just a specific type of attack, right?
Random_Nerd: Pretty much.
Knockwood: that means hers is the most kick-butt
Random_Nerd: Yeah. It makes her pretty good in a fight with Nobles who don't have really high spirit.
BethE: Elemental is an Aspect attack possibly, right?
Random_Nerd: Especially now that she can do it for free.
Knockwood: sure, until I crunch the numbers for the Dragon Slave. :)
Random_Nerd: Well, it at least enables Aspect attacks to do things they couldn't otherwise do.
Random_Nerd: Dragon Slave?
Knockwood: (anime 'Slayers')
Random_Nerd: (Ah. I haven't seen that.)
Knockwood: punch 'Dragon Slave' into the YouTube search box. :)
Random_Nerd: What did you two particularly like and dislike about the session?
BethE: I liked a bit more of the talking and that we've (I've?) gotten I think a better grip on what Mimics are and so forth. Makes the Kudzu thing even more confusing.  :)
BethE: Dislike...not sure. Brain not working gud.
Knockwood: we're learning more and more about Nobility
BethE: And we have a timeline for a showdown!  :)
Knockwood: I'm torn, though... technically we didn't _do_ much this session. Of course, when we do things we get our asses kicked... :)
Random_Nerd: But so do the other side!
Random_Nerd: But on the other hand, you've got some leads on some mysteries, yes?
Random_Nerd: So, at least you accomplished something.
BethE: And we have directions to go in. We Have a Plan.
Knockwood: That's true.
