Relationship Summary - Sesus Denerid Ravel, Fire Aspect, Immaculate Monk

Nellens Vaigu (NPC): Before he saw the Empress, Vaigu was one of Ravel’s favorite targets for bullying. An Outcaste adopted into Nellens, she was doubly vulnerable. After he saw the Empress, though, Vaigu was the first to accept that his reform was genuine, and the two became close friends. Ravel developed romantic feelings for her, although given his engagement and his eventual decision to become a monk, he never acted on them.

Mnemon Guilo (Drakensis): Ravel was engaged to Guilo throughout secondary school. The two had a strong relationship, if sometimes tempestuous, given both their egos. Then they saw the Empress, and Ravel reformed. After that, the relationship began to fray, finally shattering when Ravel announced that he was breaking the engagement against her will and the will of their families so that he could join the Immaculate Order. Ravel still harbors a measure of guilt for ending things the way he did; he considers it a betrayal of her trust even if it was necessary.

Cynis Hasinja Zende (Chrespo): The Denerid household is closely related to House Cynis, so it’s not too surprising that Ravel and Zende are cousins and have known each other since they were small. Having a bruiser on his side makes a bully’s life that much easier. After seeing the Empress, Ravel and Zende shared a certain level of obsession with the Empress. At first, this drew them closer together, but as the interest gradually took them down more and more divergent paths, it became instead a source of tension.

Tepet Usera (Kayashi): Nothing established; needs further details. At one point, Ravel scorned Usera for deigning to associate with the likes of Vaigu. As Ravel and Vaigu grew closer, though, he came to accept Usera as well, though he would eventually become somewhat jealous of their relationship.

Cynis Hasinja Kytharsis (Rip van Mason): Ravel has always been fond of Kythri despite their differences. He always saw her much like one might their best friend’s little sister and she was one of the few people that Ravel showed any protectiveness toward even as a young boy. After they saw the Empress, and their roles began to reverse, Ravel did his utmost to save her, to turn her from the path of cruelty, though of course it wasn’t enough. It was this protectiveness, this desire to save her, that was almost his undoing. He went to comfort her after the Cynis Garden party not long after he’d taken his vows. Ravel thought he could pull her back from the brink; he certainly never meant to sleep with her. One thing led to another, though, and it happened. Before she woke the next morning, he fled back to the monastery to confess and atone, deeply ashamed of what he had done. He doesn’t blame Kythri for what happened, however – rather it’s another sign of his failure to live up to the ideals he set for himself and his continued failure to save her from what he once was. (I'm picturing something along the lines of the two spending quite some time sitting and catching up, her being upset about something, he tries to comfort her, and things eventually drifting from innocent to...far less so, though probably with more than a little encouragement in this direction on her part. What she thought of the fact that he was gone the next morning, I can only imagine...)
