Shadow Panther

Shadow Panther is a 17 year old member of the engimatic Mao-Shan clan. She's a prodigy, and there's simply no better way to put it. At her tender age she's already on her way to mastering the clan's signature Bloody Claws style. Less physical pursuits also come naturally to Panther, particularly in the area of tactics and after a while... she was bored. While her clan is quite pleased to have such a tool at their disposal, they also know that her potential is just that - potential. Giving her some line about 'the quality of iron in the fire' and smirking while she said it, Panther's trainer packed her off to the City and gave her the address for a tiny apartment over a convenience store where she was to live. Instructions would follow.

The City was very bright and shiny for a while, but after a few months, everything became routine again. She even started to patrol around her block (which is an idealistic name for 'look for trouble') but local thugs soon took the hint and now she lives in a blessedly free crime zone. Those few who realize it's Panther and thank her get a look of irritation for their praise. Bored again.

While the Mao-Shan give her a monthly stipend, it's enough to live on and not much else. For extra cash (which she rarely spends, because Panther's kind of a cheapskate anyway), Panther's taken to working as a courier thanks to her neighbor. The 13-year-old boy, Bu, kept getting himself in trouble and just so Panther didn't have to hear about it any more taught him the basics of the Lightfoot style. Under the crushing weight of apathy and cynicism, there might be the sparks of bonding. Other than that, Shadow Panther spends her time wandering the City and stewing over the fact that her Clan essentially banished her just because they didn't know what to do with her.

For all her intelligence, Panther has seriously underestimated her own clan.
