Politics[edit]

The Real Alliance to Restore the Republic is composed of those factions of the Rebellion that opposed Leia’s ascension to the Imperial throne. When Leia and Mon Mothma went to Coruscant, they cut ties, then rallied around Garm Bel Iblis when he made his triumphal return to Corellia. It’s an open secret that many formerly Rebel-aligned systems, despite officially accepting Leia Organa’s authority, are strongholds of sympathy for the Real Alliance.

Ships[edit]

Peregrine-class Heavy Cruiser[edit]

Peregrine Cruiser 2.png

Designed by the Corellian Engineering Corporation as a civilian heavy-duty cargo ship capable of withstanding all but the most well-armed pirate attack, a stock Peregrine-class features overpowered engines, strong shields, and no less than 12 quad laser cannons for point defense. Militarized versions of the 750-meter vessel are currently being fielded by the Real Alliance in the capital ship role with the addition of 16 broadside turbolasers – 8 to a side – and the conversion of the upper cargo deck into a hangar capable of carrying 6 full starfighter squadrons and a dozen other small support craft.

Typical tactics are almost fighter-like, and involve closing range on a target as quickly as possible to deliver a broadside in passing, angling the shields for maximum protection against that enemy as one closes, passes by, and then maneuvers for another pass.

NPCs[edit]

Senator Garm Bel Iblis (Corellia)[edit]

An early ally to Bail Organa and Mon Mothma in the Alliance to Restore the Republic, the Corellian Senator split from the organization sometime after the destruction of Alderaan, finding Mon Mothma's steady accumulation of executive powers uncomfortably reminiscent of Palpatine's rise.

Leia Organa and Mon Mothma's seizure of the Imperial government has left him with mixed feelings. On the one hand, he thought highly of Bail and his daughter, and the fact that Mon Mothma has taken a subordinate position in the new government suggests that he misjudged her; on the other hand, the fact remains that they chose to take over the Empire rather than continue to dismantle it.

At present, his distrust of the Empire has won out, and Corellia rallied around him when he returned from exile to declare his intent to continue resisting Imperial tyranny.

Queen Kiré Elthiina (Naboo)[edit]

Naboo fared well under Imperial rule. As the site of the Emperor's favorite retreat, the planet quickly became a destination of choice for high officials seeking the Emperor's favor, and a focus for tourism generally. Reluctant to spoil the planet's peaceful ambience with blatant displays of force, Imperial authorities left the local government almost entirely intact and settled for a minimal planetary garrison; even the Emperor's ancestral home had its ferocious security measures shrouded in Nubian elegance.

Instead, the Empire implemented a massive ISB surveillance program to identify dissidents, who could then be quietly arrested and dealt with. This succeeded in suppressing open, active resistance, but non-cooperation and other forms of passive resistance became rife. The Royal Naboo Security Forces expanded substantially during this time, ostensibly to support ISB as their local enforcement arm.

In the chaos after Endor, the RSNF rose up against the Imperial occupation, arresting many of the ISB spies and analysts and striking at the small planetary garrison. The remaining troops and ISB personnel fell back to the Palpatine Estate and its fixed defenses, where they have been beseiged ever since, neither side willing to yield, neither side willing to resume active fighting.

King Lux Bonteri (Onderon)[edit]

Lux Bonteri never anticipated being elevated to the throne of his home planet, but after years spent representing Onderon in the Separatist, Republic, and then Imperial Senates, and even fighting to free it from Separatist occupation alongside Saw Gerrerra, when the old king died and his people called on him to serve, he did not refuse the honor.

His relationship with the Empire was complicated: though it was the legitimate successor state of the Republic he'd sworn loyalty to, his ties to the Jedi and his own experience as a rebel gave him sympathy for dissenters. Using his influence as a hero of the anti-Separatist rebellion, he did his best to restrain the Empire's tyranny while serving them as a pro-Imperial rallying point to contrast against Saw Gerrerra's violent extremism.

With the Emperor and Vader dead at Endor, the Empire fracturing, and Bel Iblis's open declaration of defiance, King Lux finally felt confident enough to openly voice his own and his people's dissent for the first time in decades.

Countess Giana Visconi (Serenno)[edit]

If you ask a native of Serenno, they'll tell you that their planet has been a thorn in the side of the Empire since before the Empire admitted what it was; after all, their most famous son, the great Count Dooku, left the corrupt Jedi Order to lead half the galaxy in rebellion against the nascent despotism of Palpatine and his faux-Republic while the other half were still deceived.

After two decades of heavy-handed military occupation by Imperial forces, Palpatine's death finally allowed the people of Serenno to throw off their oppressors and re-establish self-government, whereupon they promptly declared for the Real Alliance. Countess Giana Visconi's connection to the old leading House of Dooku is tenuous, but she does have the best surviving claim.

Though Serenno is located on the edge of the territory claimed by Zsinj, the warlord has so far made no attempt to reconquer the planet; pacifying the fiercely militant population would require a tremendous investment of resources, which the Warlord is loath to do when there are other, cheaper and more profitable, investments to be made.
