Kai, once a college track & field star, then struggling med student paying his tuition through victimless confidence games, started hearing a voice. That of the ancient deity Hermes, who claimed it would die without Kai's help. Kai agreed, in order to save its life. By fusing with the entity, he was reborn as something less than godly, but still far more than human.

Kai operates health clinics in the poorest neighborhoods of New Trinidad, free of charge to his patients due to a complex scheme of cooked accounting books, faked medical records, and the double-billing of related health care systems and insurers. Caduceus Medical never turns a profit, but given there's no income either, that's not so bad, is it?

Emissary of Olympus The Forgotten knows where the Neverwhen comes close to the Mortal Realm and can cross over to the other side. Having once walked this realm as deity, the Forgotten is able to sense and navigate the ways of the Neverwhen as a native and is treated as a native by those who dwell there.
At any time, the Forgotten can use any gate into the Neverwhen to enter his own private villa that still stands within the Neverwhen from his former days. The Forgotten has a number of spirit servants and may host supernatural beings in their villa as a Neutral location for the purpose of parlay and other sensitive contracts.

Bio/Background[edit]
Appearance: Male, 30's, dark hair and complexion, of Greek ethnicity. He wears a broad, floppy fisherman's hat either atop his head, or hanging off his back from its string about his neck. It has a small, feathery fishing lure affixed to either side. He displays a fat wooden writing pen in his left breast pocket, with a golden metal caduceus filigree winding up and down its length. Finally, he wears golden-colored Crocs on his feet, that have a subtle wing pattern on each side.
After graduating med school, Kai settled in New Trinidad. Where else was the host for a deity of Travel and Boundaries supposed to live, if not a city that actively traveled from place to place, and had no set boundaries? There, he set up his chain of clinics. He can often be found in one of them during the day, handling administrative duties or keeping his skills fresh through hands-on work with patients. But since he also sets his own schedule, and he created the operation to essentially run itself without constant attention, he's also freely available to dash off on various errands or adventures as they come up.
Nights and evenings are spent on his "side gig": acting as a trusted messenger and neutral party between the various supernatural factions, whenever an important item or missive needs to be delivered swiftly, securely, or discretely, no matter how dangerous or hard-to-reach the destination might be; or a safe face-to-face parlay needs to be arranged between factions. This helps keep Kai "in the loop" about interesting goings-on in the city, and occasionally provides him with opportunities to subtly nudge larger events in one direction or another. The messenger service itself is always performed in a professional, detached manner. He's got a rep to maintain. But if something else unrelated "goes right" for the world while he's visiting, and he just happens to be present when it occurs . . . well that's just random good luck, and was probably going to happen anyway, wasn't it.
Kai's willingness to be generally helpful and courteous to all of the city's different factions has earned him a measure of goodwill. Everyone's aware that even when he happens to pull something over on someone, it's always done with overall good intentions, and without any personal malice, which helps to mitigate the resulting backlash.
